OST 28 JULY 2004 - Saudi Visitor?

Post by Established02 »

This might be an interesting visitor for the OST spotters.

Teletekst states:

ARRIVAL 00:43 SVA 905 JEDDAH / KING A GELAND 00:51
DEPARTURE 12:25 SVA 905 NEW YORK JFK

Anyone has more info on this flight?

Is this a regular SV cargo flight diverted from BRU or is this a VIP flight?

Thanks

Is one of the diverted flight from BRU (I think).

Does anybody knows if the SV-747 is still @OST? Had some engine problems (departure of SV902 was scheduled for saturdaymorning 7h30 but sundayevening Lufthansa Technic was stil working on one of the engines and I haven'st seen it's flightnr. for departure on teletext yet).

@Established02: it's a scheduled cargo flight, Saudi is fuel stopping at OST instead of BRU on there JFK-Jeddah route.

@Bottie: SV 747 departed yesterday evening at 22.25 local time

The reason was birdstrike. There an article on it in todays newspaper 'Het Nieuwsblad'.

Talked to an eye-witness of the take-off. He didn't see any birds, at one moment there was a serious "blast" and the plane couldn't take height. It turned to sea for a fuel dump and came back on three engines to make a perfect landing.

normally flights continue for the time 25R is closed @ Brussels.

Don't you guys think that this incident will be used by wiloo in order to demand a closure of the airport or to forbid the SV-lights to OST (or maybe in Belgium)?
