Martinair has decided already that they will completely stop all shorthaul flying after the summer (bye bye A320's) and sell most other non-core companies like the Flight School. Quite logical since they found it was hard to make a profit on routes with fiercing competition. On a side note, all the...

Part of the answer could be seen in the analysis I made few days ago (in french).

This has been waited for a long time. I'm a bit surprised however seeing how quickly things seems to get in place.

I would be very interrested if you have more informations and confirmation about this info.

Thanks in advance !

Even selling a minority stake (~20%) to AF-KLM would be a bad move. Don't set the fox to mind the geese !

Vague rumours about an offer from AF/KLM, this can only add to the value of the VLM shares, isn't that a good thing? VLM is not a listed company, so VLM shares aren't market traded. It would only pay-off if another buyer comes into the picture with an even higher price. What is and will be more luc...

I'm not aware about talks between them, but I remember AF once tried to take-over Fly BE, which was formelly named British European, and was an AF franchise partner. But the price asked for was too high, and AF didn't went further. When the franchise agreement expired, it hasn't been renewed. Instea...

I believe the floor is a structural support for the fuselage sides; removal, while it will greatly increase volume, might weaken the structure. Such an aircraft won't have the main cargo deck pressurised. Therefore, and contrary to what you might read on a certain other forum, it is technicaly perf...

So far, only the -3 version will be fitted with blended winglets, in order to minimize the aircraft's span.

I think it's safe to say then that Lufthansa won't be ordering either the 787 or the A350 in the near future then. Hi knight, nice to hear from you... Don't forget LH will need an aircraft the size of the A350-900 to replace theirs A340-300s as well. Also, I expect LH to order a MD-11F successor ra...

can a A380 really replace the 2 747s on the route? if it cannot, then what are they going to do with the extra passengers? fly another plane? doesn't that defeat the purpose of the A380? The A380-800 provides around 30% more extra seats vs the B747-400. So no, the purpose isn't to replace 2 B747-40...
