I flew two weeks ago with both Air China (operated by Dragonair) and Hainan btween Beijing and Shanghai. I preferred Hainan! From the Air China food I ate only one bite, the Hainan stuff was very tasty. Air China was delayed and Hainan was punctual.

Well Leftwing, since they're both nightflights and the rest of the service is absolutely impeccable, I would continue to fly LH to China. I would fly via London, but then with BA, the service is much better on EU carriers then on US carriers!
