Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

That's wrong if the 'drop' itself wasn't a valid reason to strike. Striking as atco because you can't all be informed of something in one meeting isn't a valid reason. It's behavior of spoiled and entitled employees you won't see anywhere else. I refer to my earlier post The fine line you're talkin...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

There have been rumors that ATCOs and unions asked additional fees. Amounts from 40,000 to 60,000 euros extra are mentioned. Is that correct, Phoenixx? I laughed a bit. We have been refusing any and all financial benefits because that has always where we lost all sympathy and honestly money can not...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

They will have to renegotiate and give the spoiled workers what they want like always because there is NO CHOICE. That’s why they feel so strong and dare to put a country upside down! There is no possibility to replace them unless you stop the traffic for two years! (Time needed to train new motiva...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Phoenixx, thanks for your comprehensive answer. All understanding that you also have to work. ;) But I also can continue to try and put everything in another perspective, counter false information, and so on. I wish you and your colleagues a good outcome of the negotiations. And that the customer/pa...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Has anyone noticed that the Belgian airspace remains open for three consecutive nights. An extra reimbursement for those who are working on Sunday and public holiday (Easter)?

I also notice that it is very quiet at the moment with our friends atco's on this forum.

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Phoenixx and SR20, one more question: It appears that last week there was a proposal on the table from the social mediator where management agreed to introduce a 32-hour working week instead of the current 35-hour week. But I heard that the trade unions have rejected this because management only wa...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

So, the Germans take over the work of the sick Belgian ATCO’s? No it’s only a corridor that links Liege TMA with Germany, in other words Liege Approach will ne connected to Germany bypassing Brussels ACC. Traffic will be able to land and depart but a very reduced rate (less than 10 per hour). Bette...

Re: Social actions at air traffic control service skeyes (Belgium) - possible air traffic disruptions

Please, give me one government or private company where some of the staff oppose always the decisions of his management and/or his CEO? Times change, every change requires an adjustment. Why does that not apply to the ATCO's? The problems at Belgocontrol/skeyes have been dragging on for many years....
