Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

I think that SN is ripe for a sale and that this is what LH will try to do. The crisis is far from over and airlines are getting in deeper and deeper troubles. Suffices to see the SN fares for the coming weeks to see that they' re desperate to sell seats at any price. Summer is over and the appetite...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Are they begging for their next round of cash infusion yet? I don't feel much sympathy for SN. When I worked there, I was treated poorly by colleagues and middle management, earned peanuts and was under-appreciated until I dropped my notice and gave them the finger. I felt like I was a civil servant...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

Coronavirus can spread on airline flights, two studies show "We conclude that the risk for on-board transmission of SARS-CoV-2 during long flights is real and has the potential to cause COVID-19 clusters of substantial size, even in business class--like settings with spacious seating arrangemen...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

Emerging evidence of Covid transmission during air travel: "Given that she did not go outside and had self-quarantined for three weeks alone at her home in Italy before the flight and did not use public transportation to get to the airport, it is highly likely that her infection was transmitted...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

We now have evidence of on-board transmission of the virus on at least one flight:

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

Keeping the middle seat empty except for parties travelling together is a no-brainer and does not result in losing 1/3rd of capacity like airlines fear. I would even dare to propose to make this a paid option (50% surcharge) during online booking. While this crisis lasts this could be mandatory for...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

Thanks for bringing that post to our attention. Of course it is not acceptable to call people monkeys, even if it is toned down as "gentlemonkey". On the other hand, travelling on a plane and refusing to wear a mask is even less acceptable. I don't know how such people could be named. Now...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

I don't believe that story. 1. With easyJet, facial masks are mandatory. Passengers not doing so inflight, know that they risk to be confronted with the police upon arrival. If they don't wear a mask during deboarding, they even risk an immediate fine. 2. If I see someone without facial mask in a s...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

I follow up and do not recommend people to fly from AMS. The Netherlands is far behind other countries on the mask wearing policy. People are not wearing masks in stores and supermarkets. Upon landing I was shocked to realise that the young monkey in his twenties behind me was not wearing his mask....

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

A word of caution to those planning to fly with Easyjet. Easyjet's check-in algorithm prioritises stacking people closely together rather than social distancing, so that people pay to chose their seats. I was assigned a middle seat on a 90% booked flight while 3 rows at the front were totally empty....

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Another question is how long LH will last with their 9 billions. I don't think that they'll last much longer than the Spring of 2021. Another one of those Nostradamus predictions that will go lost in the www basements. Though predicting the Lufthansa bankruptcy surpasses your prediction, in 2014, t...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

If SN is in negative equity, a loan won't change that. The good thing is that LH is injecting equity to the tunes of 170 Millions, to bring the company back into solvency. As for the loan, the government has SN's shares as collateral, meaning that they either repay it or the government becomes owner...
