Re: Brussels Airlines vs Air Sénégal
No need to make scientific drawings: DKR is an important station for SN. The way they organized their flights (tag-on to CKY/BJL/FNA) from DKR is the best way to make the most of their equipment (A333) knowing that this airplane has a big cargo capacity and lots of seats. Even AF will tag-on its CKY...

Re: Brussels Airlines vs Air Sénégal
Indeed it is true... Africa is such a politically unstable continent! Things can change in the blink of an eye as we see demonstrated here. Hence my extreme reluctance to Korongo's mid/long term prospects. Don't forget it's election's year in DRC, cards are easily and quickly redistributed... from ...

Re: Brussels Airlines vs Air Sénégal
The problem is that the last 6-8 months (after ASI demise) SN has sold tickets from DKR to CKY/BJL/FNA and cargo as well and thought they could do that beyond mid January. The last (almost) 9 years, SN didn't upload cargo and pax for local traffic. DKR was simply a head-station serving as crew base/...

Re: Emirates vs. the rest : Der Spiegel Online
As for many things, the ball is the middle. - Who can't deny that global alliances act as trusts ? Doesn't LH prevent TG from landing in BRU ? Everyone knows that, and there are countless examples of such understandings. At least GCC carriers don't belong to alliances so we can't blame them for such...

Re: Emirates vs. the rest : Der Spiegel Online
LH is right, EK must urgently be stopped from overfishing the European pond and distroying tens of thousands of European jobs in the process. Oh yeah... speaking of "european" jobs, what would be Airbus and its projects without EK, QR, EY, WY's orders ??? There would be no A380, A340 woul...

Re: BRU 19/12/2010
Complaint of a Jet Airways passenger on Tweeter: the passengers have been abandoned by the crew there. Passengers have got food & bedding after 9 hours of being at the airport . Didn't know crew are obliged to "nurse" passengers on the ground if they don't have a visa... Strange, must...

Now it's even rumoured that some of the heavies might get back to their base overseas. One night was OK for those obliged to stay in transit, two... All hotels around EBBR are full. The backlog of passengers to transport in Europe has just become huge. :? :? No doubt all the passengers will never be...

Re: Air France to Freetown and Monrovia in Summer 2011
@tolipe: I like reading your posts, but you should know that airlines such as Air Caraïbes, Air Austral, Air Tahiti NUI are barely making any profits on these routes. Those airlines are heavily subsidised by the local "collectivités territoriales" as a result of Jacques Chirac's will to lo...

These seats will also be featured on SN's new A319/A320. SSG/K/M/C/D will also be retrofitted.

Re: BRU. Hours to de-ice on Nov 30.
Apron and runway de-icing has improved that's a fact. So well played Brussels Airport IDD ;) But airplane de-icing by Flightcare (rather Flight-nightmare) is just a nightmare. They are under equipped, and they ALWAYS have the good excuse to provide.  A third ground handler is really neede...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
French economic press reports now more and more frequently that talks are very advanced between ST and 9W. Air France's MD Pierre-Henri Gourgeon has even told (Tour Hebdo) that he is very hopeful to announce a very good news regarding Jet Airways in the coming weeks as the negotiations are now ongoi...

Re: Furious Ryanair passengers refuse to leave plane at Lieg
Can we come to a conclusion? I think we all agree the passengers behaved really badly on that flight and that is untolerable. Some on this forum state that it's good practise for a LCC to deviate to the cheapest airport, even if that airport isn't the most appropriate for the passengers. Some say R...

Re: Etihad wins world leading airline award
It is widely known that some "journalists" who grant those awards get some nice gifts... Like 5 free tickets in business or first class with the whole family !!! In that perspective, SkyTrax's credibility is nearly close to zero, I won't even comment on more local awards. Business Travelle...

Re: Jet Airways to lease 5 A333 and flights to MXP
I can imagine the love between BRU and 9W is a little less now... When 9W announced their plans for BRU, the airport was desolate. 9W could do what they want and get everything possible, the sky was the limit. Now things have changed tremendously... BRU is gaining more and more international carrie...

Great, but a website (btw not that useful) is a website.
Let's hope LH quickly invests in new hardware tools for SN. SN needs more investments yet.

Re: Reg. wanted SN 203 BRU-DKR
You can't know that so long in advance due to operational issues and reasons.
But normally SFV operates most of the DKR flight nowadays, and it should be like that until it is being retrofitted.
But once again this could change. E.G: SFW operated sunday, y'day and so does it today !

Yesterday's press release by MAp with an overview of traffic figures for June indeed mentions the startup of a passenger flight, but this is based on confusion with the announced cargo operation. We certainly look forward to their freighter service : the first Airbus 330F @ BRU :) Jan Van der Cruys...
