Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Rebranding costs millions. Repainting the tail in different colors costs more because you need to rebalance the rudder and that alone is a non-negligible cost. Then think about new uniforms, new headrest covers, new safety cards, new catering disposables, new signs all over the place from Bhouse to...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

To announce big changes ahead of the winter does not make much sense. What good would it be to splash cash on a new livery in the middle of a cash crisis? A new chapter implies new ownership IMO. What makes most sense to me is that the government rights will be converted into shares and SN will bec...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

It's a paint job on OO-SSO Kinda weird that they choose an A319 for this and not OO-SFB... Owh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway: Maybe a retro Sabena livery, for Sabena being 20y bankrupt? (or are they changing the name back, that would be shocking  - Sarcasm ) EAF says in the paintshop and Skyli...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Summer is over and the appetite for travel is gone, this is a general phenomenon. Overall yields were horrible over the summer, load factors decent, but now the latter are collapsing as well, across the board. Completely incorrect. Appetite for travel is not gone at all, on the contrary. Yields wer...

Sad to see margritte go...

But this kind of livery is nice and cheap. They could do this to OO-SFH as well ( just need to redo the tail )

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

OO-SSQ was ferried yesterday to LJU for return to lessor. SSQ is currently in C-check in LJU but will continue to fly for SN afterwards. OOSNC will be ferried to EMA today (Magritte livery). What is the reason? Maintenance, storage or maybe something else? SNC is in EMA to be painted in Star Allian...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

According to the website of Brussels Airlines, the Magritte livery would stay until 2022. We'll have to wait and see whether it returns or not I guess. Furthermore, SN is getting rid of the A319s and wants to replace them by A320s, hence it would be strange to abandon one of its iconic A320s. Accor...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

My experience: I had a flight in March 2020 that got cancelled. Asked for a refund (via the website). Got an e-mail explaining me it could take a while, got another one saying they were processing it and a final one stating the money was underway. Eventually got my money back on my bank account in ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

No they don't, but you cannot remove it like you remove a trolley from the galley. It's part of the equipement of the aircraft. There are certification etc. So even if you can "easily" remove it, I'm not sure that administratively you do it so easily. I would not see why it would be a pro...

Well, aside from the LH A330's there were leased, there are quite some A330's now available coming from defunct companies... some even quite new

One can hope :)

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Brussels Airlines COO (Director of Operations) Edi Wolfensberger said at the press conference this morning that SN has and will have only 8 A330s. The CEO Peter Gerber did indeed say that SN would no longer fly for Eurowings after the end of May, but he didn't say what would happen to the A330s tha...
