Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018
I'm not really sure that JAF is being prioritsed. When these 2 next MAX arrive, I think it is quite likely that one (or more) will have to fill in for the other airlines in the group at peak moments there (f.e. 1 to Amsterdam when the Dutch have their Easter holidays).

Re: Lufthansa in 2018
I read yesterday on HLN.be that the planes in new livery of LH will have to be repainted as the blue is too dark in bad weather conditions and thus a violation of certain rules.

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
Maybe the first 2 planes will be stickered as there is quite a short term between the receiving of the plane and the start of the operations to paint these planes. If two more A343's are following, they may be painted in the future.

They said also that they wanted to be bigger than SN this year. Is this then based on market share or absolute numbers or both?

Nope, that is why (as many rumours say) the A343's will be stickerd at LH Technics.

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
I'm fairly sure it will not be at CRL as they don't have the facilities. If it is true that the first A343 will arrive next week, it might be logic that the paint job will be done somewhere close to Belgium. Are the painting facilities in MST big enough to handle an A343?

I thought that Qeshm flew twice a week last summer, on tuesday and thursday? Maybe they just changed the days on which they come.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Apparently no, there are no Belgian enterprises or stakeholders who want to invest in a Belgian airline. If this had been the case, the former Belgian SN shareholders would have put money on the table in order to avoid the current scenario. They were only too happy to get rid of it. Circumstances a...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
The CAA should perhaps hurry up with the AOC's of AB and VLM, so they can fill a possible long haul gap at BRU when necessary. The situation at stake here is a possible economic crisis: no SN at BRU will mean less interesting for Star Alliance partners as they cannot connect their passengers, so les...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
I think the only way to take over these bilateral rights is that LH concludes bilateral agreements with the African countries and that the African States end the bilateral agreements with SN.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Another option could be Europe and other (German) airlines: if LH transfers all Africa and other long haul flights to FRA, there is hardly competition in Europe. Not sure whether the Comission would like this...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Indeed nice to see Gustin fight, but as we all know Spohr does everything to make EW succeed. If this has to be by firing someone, he won't care... If Gustin will bee fired (and probably a German replacement will come), it will not take long before the brand SN will be gone.

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
An ACMI agreement with any operator would work I guess. If they really want to fly to China, why don't they use a Chinese airline to conclude an ACMI with?

Re: EC Regulation 261/2004: news & court verdicts
So after this judgment, every airline should expect unexpected security checks as there is no hand of god? I can understand that you try to protect passengers, but where does it stop? Could the next step be that airlines have to pay for wildcat strikes of baggage handlers or ATC-towers?
