NCL-AMS-WAW on KLM 04/09/17
After visiting Krakow last year and enjoying it, I thought it would be great to visit Warsaw. I checked flights with LOT from Heathrow and KLM from Newcastle, Manchester and Edinburgh. I settled on KLM from Newcastle, as the flight timings were good and I had wanted to fly with the oldest airline fo...

Re: Tips and advice for WAW airport?
AMS was fine - there were some queues at the ordinary passport desks near the entrance to the C gates but I used the e-passport gate and there was no queue there. We fly back today and we are currently at WAW.

Re: Tips and advice for WAW airport?
Thanks for the replies  We had our first experience of WAW on Monday this week - we didn't pass through any passport check when we arrived (maybe because we arrived from a Schengen country) and just walked through the green customs lane to find the train into Warsaw. My experience of KRK de...

Re: Brussels to Billund (and back)
The only time I had a luggage problem at BRU was in 2006 when British Airways didn't manage to put our bags on the plane. Every time we've flown with SN, bmi and VLM there has never been a problem. We've always found the handlers at BRU to be very efficient and our luggage has never been damaged.

Polish Aviation Museum, Krakow
The video I made on our visit to the brilliant Polish Aviation Museum, Krakow, last September. I took more than 100 photos here.

Re: Menorca-Brussels: connecting flights not recommended by Ryanair
Love the inflight photos of the clouds. I couldn't tolerate the trumpets though. If ever I ended up on Ryanair (which is very highly unlikely) I would hope for a slight delay in order to escape being serenaded by aforementioned trumpets. I hope KLM don't play trumpets.

Re: Tips and advice for WAW airport?
LHR was a nightmare back in 2006 - landed at Terminal One from MAN and then had to dash over to Terminal Four to catch our flight to BRU. Had to use the fast track security lane and dash to the gates area. After arrival in BRU we discovered that none of our bags had accompanied us - one was still at...

Re: Tips and advice for WAW airport?
Thanks for answering We have a bit longer in AMS on our return leg as our flight has been retimed, I'm not complaining as transferring makes me nervous - last time we did it (at Heathrow) it was a real pain.

Tips and advice for WAW airport?
Does anyone have any good tips/advice about WAW Chopin Airport? I have read some pretty unpleasant reviews of the place which invariably mention slow passport checks, nasty security staff who can't talk English and people often missing their flights because the process of going through security and ...

Re: King is pilot on KLM
It is funny how all the newspaper now go with the sensational headline "secret revealed!" It wasn't a secret to anybody even remotely following aviation in the Netherlands. Yes but this is a British paper, not a Dutch one! Many people in Britain didn't know that the King flew Fokker aircr...

King is pilot on KLM
This was in the UK news earlier this week. The Dutch King Willem-Alexander is a co-pilot on KLM Cityhopper Fokkers!

Re: Best/Worst food on a plane
Worst inflight "food" (this does not include the muck served up on Air New Zealand as I didn't take photos of that glop): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v602/snbafan/BD%20236/bd236_sandwich.jpg This offering on bmi in 2007 was supposedly a cheese sandwich. What it actually contained was...

Re: Template suggestion when writing trip reports
In my reports I note the start of pushback and the take off time, if I can get the runway number (which most of the time I don't) I put that in as well. I note the landing time but not the doors opening for arrival, usually at the moment of doors being opened I have put away my pen and notebook and ...

Re: Favorite Aviation Museum
Hi, Honestly, I haven't visited that many aviation museums in the past, but here are a few that I enjoyed very much: - Flugausstellung Hermeskeil A very nice museum with a big collection of military and civil aircraft, both Western and Russian built. Here a couple of pics to give you an idea of the...

Re: [Pics] Day trip to Göteborg with Brussels Airlines and SAS - Story of a missed connection
Interesting report and photos. Missing a connection is something I dread in September, especially our outward flight which has a shorter connection time than our return flight.

Re: [PICS] Day trip to Vilnius with LOT (BRU-WAW-VNO-WAW-BRU)
Interesting report and nice photos I look forward to my first visit to WAW in September, hoping I can see a few more LOT planes than I did in KRK last year.

Re: Transferring at AMS - any tips?
Was the Ryanair Tuesday / Friday schedule from Newcastle to Warsaw Modlin (WMI) not convenient? I won't fly on Ryanair. From the UK they attract all sorts of trash - lager louts on stag dos, louts on hen parties. I have read nothing but bad stuff about them. I have read about brawls between drunks ...
