Re: Atlantic Crossings (by plane)
My first trip across the Atlantic was in 1975 - LHR-JFK - one way as we cruised back to Southampton on the QE2. The date was 22nd September and our aircraft was G-BBPU. My other Atlantic crossings have been: LHR-LAX on Air New Zealand 747-400, September 1995. LAX-LHR on Air New Zealand 744 in Septem...

Re: Brussels Airlines - BUD/BRU - A319 - blight&relax- FEB2015
Did you have the map display on the screen during your flight? I last flew on "K" in 2005 from BRU-BHX and we had the map display on, that is the last time I saw it on any of our Belgian airline flights.

Re: Swiss CS100 MAN-ZRH in J with bonus go around! (with photos, full length video)
Those who think that BRU is a horrible airport, have a look at the video. MAN is an overcrowded airport; multiple, cramped areas linked to each other; departure check-in area, arrivals and security check area with absolutely no daylight; long walks with several steps; most gates with no jet bridge;...

Re: Eurostar: Brussels-London-Brussels Leisure select/Standard video report (Jan 2015)
I only ever booked Euro"star" travel once - that was in 2009. That was the only time we ever lost a holiday. We were going to spend Christmas in Oostende but the Euro"star" trains broke down because snow landed on them in France. We said we would never book on it again. My sole e...

Re: *NEW CABIN* Ryanair FR 164 Berlin SXF to Brussels - Boeing 737-800 - Flight report
On the subject of approaches, LCY is also very nice, and SYD. Don't forget LHR! I've not experienced LHR on approach since 2006. on a cloudy, overcast day so we couldn't see much. Maybe we'll have better luck with that approach in September. MAN has a nice approach in good weather, largely over the...

Thanks Comet! I bet you must mean you fly the approach from the pointy end of the plane :D TheFlyingSultan Unfortunately not :-) I like the approach into BRU because of the good views you can get on a nice day, sometimes flying near the Atomium, it looks great from the air, though I often wish I wa...

Re: British Airways and the Brexit?
Whether i take that serieus is not the issue. The uk law says that as soon as 100.000 signatures have been reached, it needs to be debated. 6.000.000 signatures by now cannot be ignored. The rule on petitions on the UK government website is that when a petition has reached 100,000 signatures "...

Re: Brexit and Airbus
Airbus has plants in China and America - not part of the EU and never have been, so why should it close the plant in Britain? Trying to dictate to the British people how to vote in our referendum and it didn't work.

Re: Brussels-Manchester and return with Brussels Airlines
BRU is vastly superior in every way to MAN. There is no comparison. I certainly will not contradict you on this. But recently BRU had a major problem, as you know, and that made the airport difficult to use with long security queues which have now disappeared. But some people are still weary to fly...

Re: Brussels-Manchester and return with Brussels Airlines
Great report Andre
BRU is vastly superior in every way to MAN. There is no comparison. Great that you had female pilots on both flights - we had one on our return flight last year. Those who complain about Brussels should come here to compare!

Re: Day trip to Palma de Mallorca with Ryanair, Iberia Express, British Airways
Great report and nice photos! Interesting to hear about the arrangement at Terminal Five with the gates, that gives me a better idea what to expect when I use that terminal in September. Thanks Louise. If you don't change terminals between flights, T5 is OK and quite easy to use. It's of course a g...

Thanks again for answers and thanks for posting the photo quixoticguide - that is just the sort of view I would like!
