Re: Emirates to Brussels?
I'm not sure it's a missed opportunity for b.air. Let's not forget that many pax (if not most pax) on Emirates flights to/from BRU will be connecting at Dubai to/from other destinations. B.air cannot do that. It can, of course, offer conncetions at BRU but not beyong Dubai. I think the Europe-Dubai ...

Re: Air Berlin needs €450m to stem the losses of 2013
I'm still wondering what EY's strategy is in all of this. My guess is that their strategy is probably the following : since they cannot fly to all cities (especially the small and medium-sized ones in Europe) from/to AUH, they want to secure partners that will allow for smooth connections to most c...

Re: Emirates to Brussels?
Emirates is said to have confirmed the use of its slots at BRU for after the summer. Daily flights operated by B777-200. Creates some nervosity at LH/BA/KL and QR/Etihad. http://www.travel-magazine.be/nl-be/PageItem/TargetModuleID/1586/NewsDetailItemID/4688 http://www.travel-magazine.be/fr-be/PageIt...

Re: SN launches new website
As there seem to be so many willing participants, it might be a good idea for SN to post the new content here via a link for correction by forum members. Why should we do the work of b.air or b.air's contractors ? Anyway, it seems b.air either reads luchtzak or they had so many criticisms that they...

Re: SN launches new website.
Indeed, RTM.Potable water is in a large tank in the belly and is used to brew for instance coffee with.Drinking water comes from a bottle and is served directly in a glass. They are thus 2 different things, so there's no translation error whatsoever. And indeed one of the measures is to no longer fi...

Re: A special passenger in the jump seat of an Aliatlia plan
I flew long haul with AZ last month out of BRU via FCO : all four flights departed and arrived on time, my suitcase wasn't lost or delayed at FCO, service (in C class) was very good and food excellent. Just a confirmation for me of previous experiences. The Pope has good taste

http://www.brusselsairlines.com/en-be/corporate/corporate-social-responsibility/bgreen.aspx This page of the new website is full of crap. "To reduce the weight of our aircraft we are reducing the amount of potable water on board". It would have been preferable to say "the quantity of ...

On the other hand, what are the chances to find a "drietalige" francophone editor...? None. I never said it nor implied it in my contribution. Never expect to find someone who would be able to write in three languages without making mistakes. Such people are extremely rare and and as &quo...

Re: SN launches new website.
Translations into English and French are horrible. Of course, made by a "perfect drietalige" Belgian  French is my first language and I immediately noticed that the French language used is terrible. And even if English is not my first language, I quickly noticed a few translation mis...

Re: Smoking islands at Brussels Airport
I'd simply close them again and put the premium square footage at more contributing use. They work at other airports. No reason, they would not be a success at BRU. As too "space for more contributing use", please read the thread "2nd recreation area at Munich Airport" and see w...

Re: Airbus Plans 186-Seat A320
Seems like the easiest thing to do is to reduce the seat pitch even more. 28 inch seat pitch = 31 rows instead of 30 ? (someone will say this is too simplistic, but I couldn't help saying it ; will manufacturers and airlines continue to test passengers' willingness to sit in seats and speces getting...

Re: Jet Airways out of Brussels?
Even if this is off topic, as a non-smoker I must totally disagree with you. It's not by preventing smokers from smoking for several hours that these people will stop smoking. If you want to have relaxed passengers and avoid that smoking addicts become nervous (perhaps even close to be disruptive pa...

Re: Korongo Airlines
No reason to rejoyce, but I said it before : why is b.air spending (wasting) so much energy, time and money on an airline in a country with no security and absolutely no certainty ? (Because Stevie D and G Wood are friends and the latter needs safe planes to fly his employees ?).

I'd prefer to have a connection at BRU rather than CDG, however I cannot remember if you may smoke anywhere in transit at CDG (which you may not at BRU, hence the smell of smoke in the toilets :o ; off toic : when is BRU going to offer "Smoking Islands" btw ?) Being able to smoke when in t...

Re: Alitalia again near bankruptcy
One may or may not like Etihad and other Gulf carriers, but one thing is sure : they know how to manage airlines in a successful way (thanks to a politically airline-friendly attitude). To me, at first glance, Etihad's demands are totally legitimate. They know how to run a business. Their own airlin...

Re: British Airways adds fish and chips to inflight menu
OK. I accept your points. However, I cannot imagine that I would not smell anything if a pax sitting next to me were eating fish&chips. Nevertheless, this is another contribution to unhealthy eating habits, to people getting fatter, so I would recommend those airlines serving food that makes peo...

Re: Prime minister David Cameron chooses FR
It's cheaper for the taxpayers to take a commercial airline then a private/military jet. VIPP (very important political persons) will fly their country's military/airforce/official aircraft mainly for security reasons. It's easier to ensure the security of these people on official aircraft than on ...
