Re: BRU Summer 2017: news, new routes, airlines

In summer Icelandair has a turnaround of 70 min and with current winter schedule it's 65 min. If delayed they still take into account 60 min for the turnaround. Although Icelandair doesn't have more pax on its B757 than WOW Air in its A321, they often transport tons of fish as cargo which takes quit...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

From what I heard a few days ago is that the contract with I-Fly was indeed going to end and Air Belgium would take over that contract. So this news seems to confirm that, hopefully...

Re: Brussels Airlines' punctuality

Their operational execution of their flights is terrible in general. There are many structural reasons why flights leave with delay every day again, and nothing is being done about it. For May a huge impact was the transition from an old check-in and flight management system (system where pax are bo...

Security officers on board are quite standard at MS, at least on the BRU routes.

Re: Terror attacks: explosions in the departure hall of Brussels Airport!

I can give you an example of another loophole that had been around for 20 years. The only reason I'm giving the example now is because it has finally been solved with the opening of the second part of connector Indeed one of them, sadly enough there are still some left... One of them being so obvio...

Re: Re-opening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

I think the main reason for the traffic jam is that every car entering the airport has to be checked, and a roundabout is not the most convenient spot...

Nordwind departure at 0105 tonight has been cancelled already for a few days, so I guess in the end the inbound flight is cancelled as well. A pity, it was the nicest one of the two.

Re: Terror alert in Belgium, consequences for BRU

I don't think they will suddenly solve their security leaks. At best we'll see more visible 'security' so that it at least looks like that they are dealing with it.

Re: VLM Airlines bought by management, buys SSJ100 aircraft

The LR and the base SSJ-100-95 have the same fuel capacity. The LR has an increased MTOW allowing it to take more fuel without severe payload restrictions thus increasing the range of the type.

My last long haul with them was FRA-ADD on the A343. Good service, nothing to complain about :)

There was indeed a union meeting during rush hour. However, main problem was that people involved were people transporting the bags to and from the aircraft and not the loading teams.

800 euros is indeed very low, and I would have my doubts about the lens if someone would be selling it for such a low price. I also bought this lens second hand a few weeks ago. I'd say a price range of around 900 is more normal.

Anyone an idea where there wasn't a TG flight today? It's also from the timetable if you search for flights, and only shows twice a week now (Tuesday & Saturday)?

Re: Ryanair in 2014

I just read this article on pilot churn at Ryanair. Apparently, rumour has it that they are faced with high churn amongst their flight crew and churn levels have risen to the level where it is becoming difficult to maintain a healthy training funnel. Ryanair is adressing the problem with floating p...
