Michael O'Leary reacted with his instinct, not his brain. He wanted to teach the European Commission a lesson. Even without increasing fares, the route would have remained profitable. Ryanair is the most profitable airline in the world. But probably CRL-STN was less profitable than other routes, on ...

the BAe 146 should have been a De Havilland (the greatest British aircraft manufacturer - note my nickname!) because it was the last aircraft type to be developed at Hatfield, the home of the old DH company (which I believe should be a world heritage site owing to the important place in aviation hi...

I'm pretty sure of that because they announced it on luchtvaartnieuws.nl! Sonny, I would not always rely on the articles printed in luchtvaartnieuws.nl. They are very often correct, but they sometimes made enormous mistakes as well. The VLM codeshare news comes from an official press release of Vir...

Re: BRU-MAN (SN) - MAN-BRU (BA) on 25 Feb 04

Question : could somebody tell me why SN 2178 was cancelled on 25 February? My question is still unaswered. The funny ( ) thing is that all the time I was waiting in MAN's lounge, the television screen did not mention " SN 2178: cancelled ", but " SN 2178: go to lounge &quo...

Bad day for Brussels airport

<t>This morning, Brussels was covered by heavy snow falls. This resulted in chaos at Brussels airport. Lots of flights were either cancelled, or delayed, or diverted to other airports (Paris CDG for intercontinental flights; Luxembourg, Liège and Ostend for European flights). Situation is slowly com...

Thanks for nice report, sab319. Reminds me of my last flifht with CityBird, to the Dominican Republic, in February 2001. However, your report makes people believe that Walloon staff are rude and Flemish ones are friendly. Don't generalise. I had Walloon staff on both flights, and very friendly in bo...

BRU-MAN (SN) - MAN-BRU (BA) on 25 Feb 04

A new day trip to my second favourite destination, Manchester. Booked only 5 days in advance, the price was rather steep: €598.93. 1. BRU-MAN (SN 2173) Outbound flight was SN2173, etd 9:30, on an Avro RJ85 reg. OO-DJO. http://www.airliners.net/photos/small/1/6/2/478261.jpg http://www.airliners.net/o...

Missing from the above list is the fact that, due to the end of the codeshare with VLM, London will disappear from the destinations list of VEX.

Woudln't this be a litlle bit too much capacity on that route :?: You don't remember the time when that route was flown...

I saw the 2 DHL 727s at Pier C when coming back from FRA on 23 Feb. I was wondering what they were doing there. Out of business after replacement by 757s?
