UPS to cancel Airbus orders

UPS is trying to reduce the number of its Airbus orders, according to the Wall Street Journal. United Parcel Services had ordered 90 A300-600 aircraft from Airbus for 1.6 billion dollars 3 to 5 years ago. The cancellations would be for 20 aircraft.

Welcome Air (2W) from Innsbruck (Austria) will give up its flights from Graz, Innsbruck and Hanover to Antwerp and Rotterdam by the end of March. It will start weekly service from both Innsbruck and Graz to Olbia on May 15.

Another dreamer at high level!

There are at least two obstacles at such an expansion:

1) It needs a financing capacity that VLM does not have
2) It needs a market. VLM is a niche player that can succeed in small markets (LCY, ANR, RTM, LUX), but it will fail as a mainstream airline.
