Re: Snowfall hits European airports (10/11/12 December 2017)

I am at AMS right now. Deicing is done while the plane is still at the gate, before boarding! This morning at BRU my plane had to queue for 15 minutes at a deicing station. Just an example of the differences.... Speaking of differences. At Brussels airport (Brussels Airlines) planes have been de-ic...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2017

I'm not pro striking. But I find it sad that in our sector a strike immediately is considered bad, illegal, annoying, etc. The problem for me, are we 'less' allowed to strike than someone in another sector/branch. Nobody here (any forum) is going to cry at mummy when employees strike at Philips, Bos...

Not talking about size, I'm talking about presence, you always know when on holiday a Dutchman is in the vicinity... If you see what I'm hinting at

Common, this is just silly...

You are going to compare Shell, ING, Heineken, Philips, Randstad, Unilever, C&A, etc. to it's Belgian counterparts? Except for AB Inbev it's just obvious why you can't compare.

Re: Go-around on Air Berlin's final long-haul flight #AB7001

Special flights are proceeded by a risk assessment. I would be curious to see if there was a risk assessment for this maneuver. It’s not a special flight though. It was a normal go around with a normal bank angle, and thus standard manoeuvre performed by thousand of airplanes every single day. Take...

Re: Go-around on Air Berlin's final long-haul flight #AB7001

My point of view, A standard missed approach is a normal procedure, but still some passengers might feel uncomfortable, which is logical, you just expect to touch down instead of buzzing away. Don't forget the flight came from the US, you know some US citizens are prone to sue everyone/thing if they...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2017

Please elaborate. If you refer to the court decision from 2012 (for contracts between 2006 and 2008 in France under Irish law), it is completely different as Cityjet was a 100% daughter of the Air France-KLM holding. Cityjet is not a daughter company of Brussels Airlines / Lufthansa. And you can el...

Re: Ryanair in 2017

Ryanair reported profits of almost €1.32 billion for 2016 Just to show the huge figures: Brussels Airlines reported revenues of almost €1,27 billion for 2016 Truly amazing figures, they look like something of a bank would have 😊 no one can deny that. But don't forget what quickly comes to my mind a...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2017

Sorry to tell you that it is not by listing the problems of others that you solve the problems of SN. I remember that it flies with planes that lose pieces! Ten planes. One week. Three cancellations. This is in itself a feat! The long haul is a lottery and the lack of fleet reinforces it. I like SN...

There is a catch in their procedure, the departures towards the south start with a left turn at 1700 ft, the earlier you turn, the shorter the departure is. I think that's their only aim

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

No clue what SN will do, will have to wait and see. But there is something worth considering in this discussion I haven't seen yet. Harmonisation. The current fleet is a bit of everything. 333 - 332, GE, PW and RR... If you add the NEO, it is yet another variant. Though at least the GE will be gone...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

And the noise is more important at low altitude...... We have about 100% low altitude above Brussels (region not city) 25R is used as the main runway for take offs, taking in consideration winds and traffic flow. How on earth can all planes take off without ever flying over this 'Brussels Region'?,...
