This has nothing to do with snobism, it's all about tradition and the way people look at pilots. 8)

It looks like a real plastic jacket !! Cool :D

Sorry guys...but to me it's a very cheap look. It's good for a guy who is driving a Fedex truck but not at all for pilots. I'm very proud to wear my uniform and I'm glad that my company is not thinking about this stuff...

This was the same company Bru.Air was using to transport the crew from/to the airport/hotel. Not long ago however, they decided to stay at a hotel near the airport due to the safety problems with the helicopters.

For as big a turbo-prop as a Fokker 50 this should be around 20kts tailwind. In general the tailwind limit of aircraft is 10kts. No matter if you are flying a Fokker 50, a Cessna Citation or an Airbus A330. No ATC would let you land with more than 10 kts. And if you do so, you would also be outside...

It's impossible to compare off-shore salaries with net salaries in Belgium, but still, blaming the high cost of taxes and social security in Belgium of pilots leaving their companies is dishonest. But that is just not the case. When we are speaking about earning double of the Belgian salary, we are...

The situation at KLM is different. They are expanding like most airlines and they need pilots for this reason. Since almost all airlines are booming there is more demand than supply. Their salaries and working conditions are very good. Not many pilots are leaving KLM because they simply can't find b...

LX SN Brussels Airlines was not established (out of DAT) because some business people said "he, there are plenty of cheap pilots on the market now who have to sign whatever: let's start an airline". I didn't say that about SNBA. I am talking about all Belgian airlines. They didn't start be...

This discussion has nothing to do with Sabena!! This is about all the pilots of Belgian airlines. Everybody knows that all Belgians had to pay for the losses of Sabena. But at that time Sabena was a State funded and (very bad) controlled company. The same as with the Post, NMBS, etc.. (all making hu...

You are not obliged to take a loan if you want to become a pilot (even if the vast majority of people are more or less forced to do so because of their finincial situation) Not everybody has rich parents. We have to avoid that becomming a pilot is only for the rich kids. Apart from the €100'000 for...

Well 2500€ gross per month for a starter is quite good !! How many jobs are paid that good for young starters coming from school ? Not that many !! Not many? Maybe true, but as a pilot you are not extra paid when you fly during weekends or public holidays, you will not get a company car, you don't ...

Although: if 10 % leaves, 90 % doens't. At this moment...But it will be more when, in the future, EasyJet will recruit for Brussels and when Jet Airways will start their hub over there. Then a pilot can live in Belgium but earn double and be legal with the taxes. When I speak to my foreign colleage...

Many will follow if EasyJet will start flying from Brussels. Which Belgian pilot wants to fly as a captain for around 3500€ net for a Belgian airline (and being treated as an expensive number in the company) if you can earn at least double and live where you want? I did the same 2 years ago; I left ...

The Flight Data Monitoring Programme is since 1 january 2005 obligatory for every commercial aircraft in excess of 27'000 kgs (JAR-OPS 1.037)

This means Bru.Air has it also like any other airline.

Another A330 from BruAir is on the ground with a technical problem. It seems that SFM which came from Nairobi is grounded for a few days. They even think about a max of 8 days.

Lucky that this happened in BRU and not somewhere else with pax waiting.

Does anyone know more about this?

anyway, I would love to see some REAL planes in the VLM fleet in stead of those small Fokkertjes.
You will not see any REAL planes in VLM if they start flying with a "146"
