Re: Strikes worldwide (except Belgium) in 2019

SN1807 at 07:05 A320 SN1809 at 11:05 A320 (and LH1017 at 18:05, the only LH flight on Thursday) (or LH2019 at 19:05, the only LH flight on Friday) For those two SN-flights, which flights are cancelled/delayed? Or where these planes otherwise just standing still at BRU? There are less flights during...

Re: Strikes worldwide (except Belgium) in 2019

According to FB page from Travel Magazine: SN will fly 2x BRU-FRA on Thursday and Friday. SN1807 at 07:05 A320 SN1809 at 11:05 A320 (and LH1017 at 18:05, the only LH flight on Thursday) (or LH2019 at 19:05, the only LH flight on Friday) For those two SN-flights, which flights are cancelled/delayed?...

Re: Trivia 2019 (miscellaneous news)

If it's just a "wrong button pushed", where did the rumour (on Twitter etc: https://twitter.com/flightradar24/statu ... 2250992642) about 3 men with knives come from... That's oddly specific.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

If you want to invest in something new, you need the money to invest. If you need a loan for that money, and your profitability is only around 1%, you might pay more in interest for that loan than the savings they would bring. As I heard the reboot-plan, it was about making more profit first and to ...

Inquirer wrote: 28 Oct 2019, 07:27 But I agree: it would be smarter to have a plane in STAR colours actually flying, ideally one of their big ones even, because on the intercontinental routes, they are a far more valuable asset to STAR then on regional routes in Europe.
But where is the alliance a valuable asset to SN?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

So I wil reiterate some suggestions from the past. Narrowbodies to Africa, widebodies to Asia, real business class product on short haul, better profiling and segmentation for yield management to maximise business with high unit margin while maximising leisure with volume to get the most revenue fr...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Let's not jump to conclusion regarding today's news, it's only based on rumours so far. But a shrink can't be a big surprise to all of us, Thomas Cook was good for 800-900k passengers per year (about 10% of short haul capacity), so it is widely expected that 2020 will be a shrink due to the TC bank...

Re: 2019 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news

It's containers on a platform on wheels, so in stead of changing the wheels they might as well just transfer the containers.
I'm curious how they plan the machinists on those trains... I hope they're not away from home for 20 days.

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

The LAX-flight arrives at 11:45 AM? That would mean you're planned to take BA396, departing at 13:40 and arriving at 15:50 at BRU. After 11:45, the first SN-flight isn't scheduled until 17:50, which would mean an inconvenient long layover... So I guess they're taking passenger-comfort over alliance-...

Re: Thomas Cook ceases trading; UK CAA launches giant programme to fly its customers home

The two rotations that are cancelled today, are charter flights exclusive for Thomas Cook. That way, Brussels Airlines puts all the responsability with THCB (as the B2B contract states). Indeed, those destinations aren't even on the destinations-map of SN. So I assume these are indeed scheduled cha...

- No: other tour-operators will absorb most of the volume, but they will be looking for planes (there is no TCAB anymore to take them from), so who will do what? All, but the last one, in the Bruair fleet are converted. Airbus did it by moving the two toilets that are left and right behind the last row. This free the space for more seats. The 2 toilets are in the galley facing the back of the plane. https://theflyingengineer.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/ceo-...

As from the end of March, the beginning of the Summer season, KLM will replace one of their 5 daily fights to BRU by a train connection between Schiphol and Brussels Airport. They will use the Thalys for this and it will be the first test case for the near future. In meantime, the NS is testing the...
