Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
First of all, 'more competent people'... Why are we even discussing this matter on a public forum if we refer to more competent people? And more competent people... I don't know how much Mr. Gerber knows about the Belgian rail network, but it is clear he is pushing the agenda of his airline. And ri...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
In de TIJD newspaper today, the CEO of SN complaints about the political unwillingness to connect BRU with the HST-network. In times where short haul flights (less than 500km) are under pressure to be cancelled ( forbidden) it is impossible to understand. We had lots of incompetent Ministers of Mob...

Re: Air Belgium in 2022
Air Belgium will end its scheduled service from Brussels Airport to Punta Cana and Curaçao at the beginning of March. Until mid-January, there will be flights to both destinations once or twice a week. The last flight will take place on March 5 2023. Earlier, AB was already forced to significantly ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Like I wrote, Africa should be the main focus with new destinations. But new Mediterranean or others would be the same where a bunch of airlines already flying on it. Profit would be very low. A much more nicer and attractive, and still niche market, are the CIS countries. This could attract a lot ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
BAC really likes to build new infrastructure.... for themselves. Renovated Satellite, now the new Compass building. I'm sure BAC staff now all have a modern workspace with a nice tarmac view... https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FcM-vewWQAAtDEX?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 https://twitter.com/BrusselsAir...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
The new admin building for BAC is almost finished, as still quite a lot of things has to be done inside. At the beginning of September the inauguration will be. The satellite will be fully used by the police for the next 5 years. What will happen after those 5 years is not sure yet for the satellit...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
BRU will recover eventually when other airlines fill in the void. All European destinations will be covered by other airlines already serving BRU..adding frequencies, .. easy and Ryanair can expand.. their service is actually same if not superior to current SN. We won’t be missing much..north Ameri...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Government has no business in running an airline or any other business in any sector. Government brings in incompetence and corruption to any sector it runs. I do; however, agree that SN has failed. Government should not lend them again. If commercial banks find it a risky business to lend money to...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Intermodality is complex. For it to work efficiently and attract pax, you need to offer check-in at the point of departure (of the train to connect with a flight, and that, too, has a cost). Plus automatic transfer of baggage upon arrival (of the train) at the airport, to the flight. On the way bac...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Well I would tend to agree on most of the Flanker statement, but without beeing as dramatic. Greener aviation still have a bright future but intermodality is the key. In the case of Brussels Airlines they should definitely go a step further with SNCB/NMBS to provide direct link with high speed trai...

Lol, they might pay the same %age but surely not the same taxes. How about cabin crew, ground staff, airport fees, ... Do you think Aviapartner staff don’t pay taxes when they handle Ryanair flights? Airport fees in Brussels are the same for all airlines, there have been illegal const...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2022
The only way you can have a national airline in Belgium is one owned by a government which takes the losses for granted. You mean our tax money? No thank you! If the airline can’t make money, it should fold. Like any other business. So? Do you know how much tax money in return is generated through ...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2022
Why do french speaking Belgians always have the idea others have to adjust to their language? Is it that hard to bring up the respect of learning and speaking dutch?? Why does Brussels Airport use the city of Brussels for its branding and marketing then ? As far as I know, only 5 to 7 percents of B...

Aviapartner is actively hiring new staff, since many months. https://www.aviapartnerjobs.be/ Visibly, only one side of the country is allowed to apply  it reminds me the good "old days" of Belgavia. aviation doesn't widen the spirit of everyone. So be it. :!: Speaking of stri...

And how would they have gotten those pax to MUC?Darjeeling wrote: ↑22 Nov 2021, 11:20 There were more than 200 seats available on UA and LH from MUC to either JFK or EWR (3 flights) this Saturday.
Once more, I repeat, a bunch of AMATEURS. And I stick to it (the "bollekes" episode of the rebranding being another proof).
