I am in Luanda now and it seems the Angolans are deadly serious about this ban. Starts Friday if Portugal and France (and I assume, Belgium) do what the UK CAA did last week and inform Angola of the ban. Air France was here yesterday and left as are TAP flights until Friday only because their releva...

To Chunk and Robin: I think that Carlcat is right here. We have seen falcification of maintenance records also in western countries, such as the Alsaskan MD-80 crash. But in some countries, it is just impossible to trust government bodies because they are utterly poisoned by corruption. But it can ...

Wonder what the hell TAAG did wrong to get on this list!!! They have brand new 777's and 738's and get Beoing Gold Care amongst other things. There paperwork must be really screwed up. Provided the Angola Government doesn;t take the serious huff with the EU TAP are going to clean up big style. They ...

Kosher butcher shop? Fruit and veg market? Bags of coke? Who knows....maybe spares for Tel Aviv international. never been and probably will never go but if it's equipment is as old as El Al's maybe they need spare parts! Off topic but i didn't realise that not wishing the death of innocent people at...

I flew Amsterdam to Paris CDG in March on an Air France Boeing 737, and I'm surprised that plane was still considered suitable for transporting paying customers. Absolutely dreadful! I've never known such cramped conditions inside an airplane. I wasn't surprised when I read Air France decided to ta...

ABZ - LHR - KUL - Langkawi and back again
I have done a few TR's on here but they have usually involved KLM, Air France and occasionally Emirates and SAA. This time we took a different route to KUL, mainly due to the cheap tickets available on Malaysia Airlines from LHR to KUL this month. However, we had to get to LHR first.....so it was th...

Treat airlinequality.com with not a grain, but a bag of salt. Bear in mind that people only complain if something happens to them and even then they embeliish the 'facts'. Who writes to these sites to say they had a perfectly satisfactory experience? No-one. Maybe, if service is beyond good, then so...

I am all for non discrimination against the elderly but this is going way too far. There has to be a realistic cut off point at which it is deemed not suitable for someone to be cabin crew - I would suggest 55 or 60 at worst. I agree to a point that it is an indication of a society problem when peop...

Muscat is a far more pleasant stopping point than DXB these days. Not sure about the airport but the city itself is really nice. Very quiet compared to Dubai (though growing) it has some beautiful beaches and mountains as a backdrop. Good hotels too....it doesn;t have the mad night life of Dubai tho...

the 340 is wiely recognised to be pretty much the quietest widebody in the sky - the 300 series at least. That is until the 380 anyway. No airbus bias I'm afraid so you can burst that wee bubble as well...i happen to love the 747 also but the layout on airbus widebody's is my most preferred - what i...

That was the whole point of my response. His opinon is just that, his opinion, and totally subjective. As I pointed out, the airlines, not the manufacturer, decide how many seats, what kind of seats, how wide they are, and how far apart they will be placed, both side to side and front to back (pitc...

Well in my view nothing surpasses the A330 / 340 for passenger comfort in either business or economy. I go on both depending on the job but in business you generally get 2-2-2 - as opposed to 2-3-3 on many airlines 777's these days. You shouldn't get a middle seat in business... As for Economy the 2...

Well not really surprised that they should update some of the older A320's they have flying about. Nor is it a surprise that they get more T7's especially as they seem to like the 300ER a lot. As a passenger I don't but then I still end up on the bloody things so AF are doing something right.... As ...

The perception is of old failing aircraft whether it be an A300, F100 or whatever the hell else they fly. The aircraft type is not the issue....its the carrier. KU use A300 still (I was on one a couple of years back I think, or was it a 310?) but the perception of them is that though not great, bett...

Re: Rules 11 & 12
Should be rule 11: Passengers weighing over 90 kilos will be charged 5 Euros/bucks for each kilo over. And rule 12: Passengers weighing >119 kilos should only be allowed on board, when they have paid for two seats. Bit harsh. I am definately over 90 kilos, but I am also very tall and certainly don;...

I like the attitude. Seems quite honest in a market that specialises in bulls*it more than anywhere else! I mean if AA can still advertise how great they are then there is something smelling.... As for not bringing on your own food.....i can see reasons for it. And have experienced them too. Imagine...
