The Survivors Guide to Plane Crashes - BBC 2 Horizon
Tonight 10.00 o'clock BBC 2 : 'The Survivors Guide to Plane Crashes', a documentary on how to survive airplane crashes. (Where to sit, which airlines (not) too fly, etc...) Promising feature if you ask me.

Fuel : why in kg/pounds ?
Why is the amount of fuel tanked on airplanes always stated in kg/pounds ? There is probably a very logical answer to this question (and it will probably induce a huge Aha-erlebnis), but wouldn't one expect it to be measured in litres or gallons ? Has this got to do with the weight limitations of ai...

The reason AA has been sticking to its bare metal look has just been fuel savings.... However the bare metal skin requires different (and more extensive/expensive?) maintenance. Still the extra maintenance cost must be less than the fuel savings.... I'm not sure if AA is going to be able to stick wi...

I remember a few other A320 crashes / there was a LH 320 at Warsaw in the early nineties and an AF 320 that crashed during a demonstration (I think it was somewhere in the Alsace (Strasbourg ?). There were casualties in both instances, but i don't know how much. there have probably been more A320cra...
