US Air installed winglets on its old 727's that it used for the USAir Shuttle, then sold the planes to an airline i think was called TransMeridian, a charter company.

US Airways purchase of B787 is about as likely as US Airways merging with Delta Airlines. Reps. from Airbus and Boeing visit airlines headquarters all the time. A visit in itself is worthless if it doesnt result in aircraft sales. I will believe this one when i see it, meaning B787's flying in US Ai...

I'm sure Willie will do something, but will it be the A350 or the B787? With Paris looming over the horizon, we may see something in June. This will be an interesting airshow in deed! The combined potential orders from Europe Asia and N America will make or break Airbus or Boeing. With the US airli...

Re: American Airlines to Upgrade 124 757's

Cagyjames commented some time ago that US air would like to have more 757's (if I remember correctly) if they were avaialble. Our A321s are having to make fuel stops in MCI these days (due to the new reconfig where we took out some FC and closet space and loaded in more people) on the SFO-PHL route...

I said before that the airlines would regret the day that they let Boeing cancel production of the B757. That is a very versatile plane! Every large US carrier that currently operates the plane type have been aggressively trying to get thier hands on any that are available. The cargo carriers are tr...

Continental Airlines had rear facing seats on its fleet of MD 80 aircraft as well.

Not a new idea, just a revisitation of an old idea ;)

In the scenario mentioned above, i see the answer in a transatlantic alliance between Boeing and Airbus. Stranger things have happened. No way will the western world fall victim to anything by way of aircraft coming from China.

50% seems a bit too high. I dont believe that. There are too many hands(governments) involved in Airbus to allow something like that to occur. I could be wrong, but i dont think that i am. I guess time will tell on this one :)

Euhm Guys... US Air's purchase of A350XWB's has already been confirmed about a week ago. There's even been articles in Flight International amongst other magazines. Also...you can find artist's impressions on how the planes will look on the net and in those magazines... Sure. I dont think that most...

According to the "source" of this report, it wont be a major US carrier.

Maybe its the US gov. Bush may have decided to replace all the pres./gov. fleet of 757s and 737s with new B787s

From what i have been reading, the A350 and B787 are aimed at 2 different markets?!?!

Seems the A350 is geared more towards competing with B777 and not B787. That being said, an enhanced B777 with B787 materials can be offered to fill the gap between A350 and B787?

I will say British Airways or maybe Lufthansas from the EU.
From Asia, Perhaps its an Indian or Mid Eastern Carrier.

Or in a completely ideal world, its Biman. They sure could use new and more efficient metal

an A333 replacement is pretty much the XWB-800 isn't it? But why would they wait an extra 5 years or so if they have early slots for 787s? unless they do think the XWB is better. The answer is economics. US will never get a better deal from Boeing on B787 like they will get from Airbus on A350. B78...
