Just a purely hypothetical excercise:
BCN-JFK: booked on the SN website: 3488€ return
Sames dates and flight times:
BCN - BRU return on FR with 20kg luggage and reserved seat: 190€
BRU - JFK return on SN: 854€
Together: 1044€
Just saying ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
I don't know, their will probably be figures about that somewhere.
As far as I know their will be additional FR destinations from BRU after the summer.

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
I have to say that I have been quite dissappointed by SN on a personal level. From the 50 or 60 or so employees that I've met in the last 3 weeks that I said good morning - evening to, only one did not stick their nose in the air and turned their face away. I really cannot understand why people cann...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
I don't think it's the style of the Lufthansa carriers to rely on feed by 'hostile airlines', if I may call them that way: see how they reluctantly code share even with STAR Alliance partners (no SAS or LOT code share in BRU for instance), or how Lufthansa doesnt even codeshare with Turkish. Person...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
I call it promising results. The FY2013 figures combined with passenger and cargo evolution suggest that FY2014 could be closed near break-even if costs can be kept under control and LCC impact can be limited. It will be interesting to see the march figures as these will be the first indication of ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
Since When is not making profit a good thing to do for companies? Better than expected maybe, certainly not good. seeing where they are coming from, it is my opinion that these figures can be interpreted as positive. They are profiting from the economy that is coming out of a slump and forecast is ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
The target for 2013 was a loss of between 20 M and 0. (I don't find the original reference but see for instance: by RoMax » 14 Mar 2013, 19:29 - SN expects a loss of 0 to 20 million this year and a profit in 2014) Thus, the loss is worse than the worst expected. And a question : are the expected Wa...

Re: Malaysia Airlines says it has lost contact with flight M
I rather think that it's an hijacking. If you read the article it's mentioned that they think that the transponder may have been switched off intentionally to avoid detection. It also mentioned that they were pursuing the possibility that the plane has been taken to been used on a later date. I'm n...

Re: Malaysia Airlines says it has lost contact with flight M
According to US investigators the plane has flown for an additional 4 hours after contact was lost: http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304914904579434653903086282 It may sound weird but it's not the US equivalent of "Het Laatste Nieuws" that broke the story, it's publishe...

Re: New charter airlines based in BRU
Thomas Cook is a competitor of Corendon (and even more so than SN's other big client Club Med, because Thomas Cook Belgium is also active in the lower budget segment of the market). It's not unseen, but as long as Thomas Cook has another choice, they will not go working with Corendon... I wonder ho...

Good looking cabin, but a rather strange decision not to include IFE

That certainly puts another light on things. Could this be a terrorist attack?
