Re: Trivia : Miscellaneous news
As widely known, Brussels Airlines takes great pride in being a truly Belgian airline, which means they not only fly from Belgium, but also employ predominantly Belgian crew. Of course, this means there are many native Dutch and French speaking crew members to be found on board, but something not ve...

Yes, it's true (see official press release): SN is one of Europe's fastest growing airlines this year.

Re: SN's new website Fiasco launch
Jan is correct, the servers were overloaded because of popularity of the new booking classes introduced recently, so at leak periods they we're in trouble: more capacity thus had to be arranged to cope with the suddenly increased online demand for bookings. FYI- last week (the first week of the new ...

Re: From Brussels to Sri Lanka with Etihad (part 2: return)
Thank you for the very interesting trip report, André. You sure made its reading interesting: posting many pictures and some funny observations, rather than elaborating about the great comfort of an ordinary Recaro economy seat which they have previously been bashing, or ranting about the fact the s...

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet
That is correct.
Another A319 is going to join the fleet this autumn, to replace the last RJ85 and provide much needed additional capacity; 2 more A319 have already been secured too for next spring, btw.

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product
That's right, all of that for 0.99EUR more than SN's LCC ticket. ;) Now you've got me confused, Sean, because you are comparing a return ticket price at brussels airlines to a one way ticket price at ryanair. :?: From the sound of it, this looks like ryanair's Light and Relax but with luggage added...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product
Light&Relax is costing +40 euro than the previous B.Light If you'd take a closer look at the new product overview and what is contained in it, you'd see Light&Relax is coming not just with a checked luggage allowance like B.light, but also with the newly added flexibility to change to any e...

Re: Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa
SN will resume flights to ROB, FNA and of course also CRY as from tomorrow. CRY remains paired with DKR as before, whereas ROB and FNA are going to be uncoupled (but with a technical stop in DKR on the inbound for crewchange) to maximize capacity. http://deredactie.be/cm/vrtnieuws/buitenland/2.34982...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product
There's absolutely nothing wrong with the 'about us' epilogue of that Press Release on our future product line up, as it describes the situation 'as is', not 'as will be (soon)', but of course if you look with a bad eye to everything coming from SN, you can misread everything, can't you? You'd almos...

Re: Aviation and the Ebola epidemic in West-Africa
Then they could operate triangular flights exclusively between affected countries. But I guess it takes some time to organise this. Not really feasible, because the crew doesn't want to stay in those affected countries (which I can understand). That's the advantage RAM has: they can have the same c...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product
Always nagging Ryanair won't lead you very far, you know. Did I mention them then? Must be you somehow recognized their improved product in those widely known inconveniences listed... ;) As a passenger looking for the best deal, I'd compare what others offer on the market and quickly notice they sy...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product
At first glance, it certainly looks interesting and Brussels Airlines must now be included in the search when looking for the best price of a flight. The most surprising thing to anybody should be the fact you can also often book one-ways or day returns in check&Go at those -like you've noticed...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
Yes, I am impatient to look at those 69 euros fares and the exact conditions of use. No need to put on your glasses, airazurxtor, there's not going to be any small print like you expect: 69 euro return for the preferred seat of your own choice, period. Oh, and should you wish to add say some checke...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
Still no mention of the new fares (Check&Go, Light&Relax, etc) ... Just a little bit more of your patience and you'll be able to check and go (sic) to our numerous European destinations for as little 69 euro return, including airport check-in (so no need to waste your own colour cartridges ...

Re: VIDEO: Eindhoven "bodies-flight", Ryanair didn't read NO
initially they were due to land at 34! .... but were allready denied landing at that point. 9 min at EIN is more than enough to taxi and shutdown ... so get your fact right before you try to be mr superior again. AD closed means what it means: no more activity. Just what do you not understand about...

Re: VIDEO: Eindhoven "bodies-flight", Ryanair didn't read NO
They did read the notams stating the airport would close at 1545, but were not allowed to land at 1542, which lead to a rant of the Ryanair pilot. In which case they are dead wrong, Lysexpat, because AD closed at 1545 does not mean you can land up to 154459, it means all planes on the AD must be we...

Re: Wathelet dispersion plan for Brussels Airport
Imho, the only REAL (non political) way out is for the federal governement to ask ICAO to appoint and send to Brussels a group of independent (non European) experts to recommend when and how take offs and landings should take place from/to BRU and that all political parties, regions, governments an...

Re: Wathelet dispersion plan for Brussels Airport
They never take of over Lomdon they Land that's another storie.... My friend, take it from somebody who has aleady flown into LHR hundreds of times as a pilot: they take off from RWY09, just as easily as they land on RWY27, over the city. LHR isn't as foolish to use its 2 main runways only in 1 dir...

Indeed, but remember, this isn't the only judgement so far, right?
You'll find tons of them if you Google a bit, many of them forbidding possible alternatives or at least giving that impression.
