Re: BRU Winter 2021-2022: news, new routes, airlines

Not only does the current registration of 9H-BEL somewhat refer to Belgium, this is in fact the very plane previously called G-EKOC and operated by FlyBe on behalf of... Brussels Airlines. During that time, it carried the full SN livery as well.

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2019

TUI fly Belgium does two one-off flights from Antwerp to Leeds for the UCI 2019 Road World Championships (that's cycling, or so I've been told) in September. Timings as follows: Thursday 26 September: ANR 07:30 - 07:40 LBA Sunday 29 September: LBA 20:15 - 22:25 ANR Funny thing: the return flights (l...

Re: Crashes and serious incidents/accidents in 2019

A Belgian pilot was involved in a Piper PA-46-350P crash in Labrador, Canada. The airplane (N757NY) crashed after take off en route for Greenland, presumably on one of a series of ferry flights. While the pilot survived and was taken to a local hospital, his passenger sadly did not. More at Aviation...

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

The news today is that there is no buyer for VLM, no one willing to invest in an airline based at ANR to lay their hands on a Belgian AOC and - after more than three months - no one brave enough to fly to London City from Antwerp. https://www.tijd.be/ondernemen/luchtvaart/Definitief-einde-voor-VLM-i...

Those are actual, real plans? (I didn't say realistic, just the idea that someone wants to go and launch such an operation seems... ludicrous). Are we sure this is not just some sort of joke or PR stunt?

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

Lublin from Antwerp is pretty interesting IMHO. Not only is this a completely new destination (and country?) for TUI as a whole, it's also clearly a destination driven by VFR-traffic (Visiting Friends and Relatives).

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Looking at the online Flybe timetable / fare calendar, it's now clear that the two extra flights per week will not continue past early January. The achedule goes back to four flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) as from January 7th.

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018

According to the Slovenian business registry the local company "VLM Airlines, letalski prevozi, d.d." is still active yes. BTW: Google Translate told me "letalski prevozi" means "lethal transport" in English but I'm sure it's not THAT bad :)

because for these low cost tickets there is certainly a market on day 6
I would agree but of course if a Saturday flight would also leave at 6pm that wouldn't make it all that attractive.

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

I should think their present offer (two flights weekly?) is way below what the diamond traders and bankers require - their absolute minimum must be a day return for business without overnight stay. It's four flights a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), but you're right, that's not nearly ...

New destinations from Antwerp starting June 4th: Aberdeen (1-3-5--), Cologne (days 12-4-67) and Rostock (days 12-4-67). Aberdeen - Antwerp flights are direct on Mondays but make a stop in Birmingham on other days. Which also means VLM will start operating domestic flights in the UK again. Cologne an...
