ASKY publishes launch schedules

Asky , the new Lomé based carrier sponsored by ET has released its initial schedules - interestingly the flights will be operated using the ET code - all info courtesy of the airline route update blog . http://airlineroute.net/2009/12/21/et-asky/#more-15887 Schedules as follows: Lome – Abidjan – Dak...

Re: Is the airDC project dead?

Very exciting news . While not wishing to underestimate the obstacles it faces I wish the new airline every success . I wonder whether it will be affiliated to Miles and More , it would seem logical . If ET join Star , as seems more and more likely , I wonder whether there will be eventual co-operat...

Re: 5th A330 for Brussels Airlines

I suggest the moderator to close this topic, and to start two new topics : - one with real news about the search for a fifth A330 for Brussels Airlines, - one with the discussion going on about the sense of deploying A319's on the African network. I'm not interested in the second one, and certainly...

Re: 5th A330 for Brussels Airlines

Apologies for going back on topic ( which , in case anyone had forgotten , is "5th A330 for Brussels Airlines" ) I just noticed this article http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/finance/2009/1110/1224258479348.html EI is looking at disposing of some aircraft The airline is considering offer...

Re: UA confirms ORD flight

9W in Star Alliance is unrealistic since AI is already invited and Star will not change their mind because SN code shares with 9W. SN's influence in Star Alliance is far to low for *A to change their mind. Yes , but 9W has frequent flyer or codeshare arrangements with a large number of other *A car...

Re: 5th A330 for Brussels Airlines

I agree that it's not possible to operate non-stop JNB with the existing fleet, but on the other hand no one stops SN from acquiring a newer MSN A330 and start it. I was proposing sending the 5th A330 to JNB anyway as the other 4 are already on a busy schedule. . I have found a lot of what you have...

Re: BRU summer 2010: latest news, routes, airlines

Typical , I move away from Brussels and it becomes a *A hub ! New A* transatlantic services including BRU-YUL , BRU-ORD , BRU-EWR ( new to *A anyway) and BRU-PHL goes from seasonal to year round . The BRU-YUL and switch of BRU-EWR from Skyteam to *A really hurt as these are both services I would hav...

Re: BRUSSELS AIRLINES to join STAR ALLIANCE in December

I noticed today that one of the RJ's (OO-DJQ) already has the Star Alliance logo between the left cockpit window and the door. Very nice sight, but is this allowed before 9th December? A number of airlines have displayed the logo in advance of joining ( CA for one that I can remember ) but usually ...

Re: 5'th A330 for Brussels Airlines

Does anyone have any guesses where they might try to source a 5th frame from ? I am assuming that a new build is out of the question ? If I am not mistaken at the moment they have 3 GE powered aircraft and 1 PW powered ... perhaps they should try for an RR powered one to complete the set ;) ( Althou...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines

No. It rather seems to me that LH does not want to codeshare to Kinshasa. Why? or perhaps the bilateral agreement between Germany and the DRC (assuming that there is a bilateral agreement ) does not permit third party codeshares , in which case it is not so much that they dont want to , but rather ...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines

Now also officially confirmed. SN will join STAR on the 9th of December. In fact, it looks like it has been given the rather exceptional privilege to join on a date other than an IATA season change date, probably because LH wants them in asap and they can't make it by OCT28.... thanks for that - wo...

Re: BRU summer 2010: latest news, routes, airlines

Are they planning to utilise a TAAG slot at LAD, hence the negotiations to be started soon? They could then offer TAAG a flight to the capital of Europe which, as we all know, they can't start themself (through a codeshare). Ever since SN went to twice weekly on LAD, they have been codesharing with...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

I have just been playing around on great circle mapper website with the various LH group hubs ( yes , I know , I am a tragic case ! ) and even though I do not think that SN should jump on to the North America bandwagon it did occur to me that BRU is the furthest north/west point out of the 5 hubs th...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

I don't think SN will start a Atlantic flight with own metal this or next year. But Boston will work really good from BRU. It was one of the most succesfull Sabena destinations in the past. And there is still a lot of ask for this route. And that's wy I proposed that LH can maybe fly from Germany v...

why would SN do EDI from CRL when they can ( and do ) codeshare BRU-EDI on the BD operated service ?

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa

@ MR_Boeing: @ Boeing747-nurse: You have some valid arguments. But then again, LH is Star Alliance and I'm pretty sure LH will see things in a Star Alliance point of view, even more since they applied for (and got) US DoT Anti Thrust Immunity for transatlantic service together with UA, CO and AC. S...
