Re: VLM Airlines news 2016

"The knowhow is here, the aircraft are here, the destinations are there... " The knowhow: probably, I don't know how good theirs is, but I assume that's indeed an asset. The aircraft: only about 5 of them after the last sale-and-lease-back? 5 rather dated Fokker 50's which are hardly used ...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Limiting operational hours to 0800-2000 might be too limiting. One of the reasons the ANR-HAM flight was interesting was that by leaving at 0700 and arriving at 0835 it was early enough to attend a morning-meeting in or near Hamburg. (The return flight 2010-2140 was rather late for business travelle...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

I live near ANR as well, and I can hear the Embraers, but also the F50's and smaller airplanes. Luckily there's still more noise coming from busses going through the street here, and occasionally loud motorcycles or sportscars. Delaying from 0630 to 0830 isn't needed in my opinion: 0700 on weekdays ...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Joking apart, recently EGIS and JAF are doing their best to increase the support for the Green and the 'close the airport' campaign. There was a lot of support for the JAF flights out of Antwerp when they started. People like the convenience of the nearby, cosy, little airport. But that was the per...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

that's good news a 50-seater is the ideal plane for ANR operations! I've been on a few ANR-LCY or vice-versa flights with all 50 seats filled. For this service a few more seats aren't bad. Passenger-wise an Avro would make sense on this route, but I don't know the impact of a jet versus a prop on t...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2016

Especially if they could take over the ANR-LCY route for CityJet again, I guess that could make a nice base income for them.

Hi Thanks anyway for doing the effort to post it for those out there Tangolima ;) It WAS indeed a lazy afternoon, my god ... spent 4hr there and literally only saw 3 movements (landings & take off's all together) of light aircraft for training, so yeah ... it was as calm as I've seen it in quit...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2016

The last VLM-flights to FDH seem to be diverted to Memmingen, any reason why?

So, where are the aircraft?
OO-VLF FDH/FMM?
OO-VLI ANR
OO-VLJ ANR?
OO-VLL FMM
OO-VLM FMM
OO-VLN ANR
OO-VLO ??
OO-VLP RTM after the last flight from Manchester for Flybe
OO-VLQ ANR
OO-VLS ??
OO-VLZ ANR

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Why is it so hard to make the Geneva route work from Antwerp? From BRU there are 4 (or even more) big planes filled each day... Are all those travellers from a region closer to BRU than ANR? Is it because there's no low cost option? Are there so many transfer passengers passing by BRU to GVA?

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

I flew ANR-TXL and back on the long weekend of Ascension (OLH Hemelvaart), begin may and both flights seemed full, so I guess a LF of 90% or more. Too bad the timing of the flights isn't more citytrip-weekend friendly. However, I have a magazine called "Welcome at Antwerp Airport", which m...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2016

Why would it be out of the universe? ANR-LCY is succesful, although taking the Eurostar is cheaper and greener. I could imagine a (small, but so is a F50) userbase who would pay a bit more to have a relaxed check in at ANR and transfer at BRU. However, in such scenario the waiting time for the trans...
