Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
I wonder if the "20-minute parking to boarding" concept for premium passengers, is to board a bus after 20 minutes, in order to bring you to the other terminal, or to board the real AirBUS... ? Quite a different experience, imho... And will there be a jetway ? If you have to climb the stai...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
Interesting explanation RoMax, but then I find their statement quite unfair. Anyway, I am really curious about the "20 minute process" from parking to boarding for premium passengers ( luggage drop-off included ? ). If they are able to realize that, it would be a very nice unique selling p...

Re: BRU Summer 2018: news, new routes, airlines
Not a very attractive schedule for business travellers, is it ? The only week trip that can be done is to leave Brussels on a Tuesday evening, arrive Wednesday early afternoon, but you already have to go back to the airport on Thursday morning to catch the return flight... Otherwise, you are stuck i...

Re: KL vs. SN
OK, NL has 17M inhabitants, we 11,5, or about 67%. If we would translate this in aircraft, 70 for KL would mean about 45 for SN. While I agree BRU is in between AMS, PAR, FRA and LON, this could also work in the other direction, by attracting travellers from this huge catchment area. And to be very ...

KL vs. SN
Dear all, this has been on my mind for a a long time. We are all getting exited when we write about a "new" second hand A330 for SN that might be joining the fleet. Will it be an 8-year old plane, or will we be lucky and will it be an only 6-year old second hand plane. When will the first ...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
I feel a bit sad for Air Belgium. It is as if you were planning to open a family grocery shop in a medium sized town where almost nothing was available, planning and investing in those plans, and before the first stone is laid, you hear a big supermarket will be built next to you... You may start pl...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
Regarding flying to secondary Chinese cities : does anybody know what they expect as a % of passengers originating from BE/EU, or will they be filling planes with Chinese tourists coming over on a EU visit ? And as such, would they view every ticket sold here as being a nice +, but not really needin...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
Makes sense indeed, although I hope for them they will have some "freedom" in determining which destinations might be best... And I did not mean connecting pax from China to the US, but pure BRU-BOS/LAX/xxx v.v. O/D-passengers... there must be more of those than people dreaming of going to...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
iMHO they should seriously consider major business destinations such as SIN and HKG in order to have some passengers on board paying premium fares. There is an interesting article in ATW this or last month about flying to secondary Chinese cities and the low yields/low revenues those destinations ca...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
Very impressive plans indeed ! I hope they also launch a ANR-BRU route (with a short stop in Mechelen), and they should not forget to tap into the vast market around Beauvechain (there is one Japanese family of 4 living over there ) by launching daily Beauvechain - Narita and Haneda ( so this family...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
I fully agree brusselsairlinesfan... I have difficulties to imagine they can fill planes to exotic China destinations with booking systems only opening a few months before launch. They should move quickly IMHO to avoid planes at 20pc load factor during - for them in the first years probably - the mo...

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium in 2017
Flew with them yesterday to Hurghada ( OO-TCW ), full plane, good service, correct seating thanks to the slim seats. Although it was probably its first flight of the day ( plane was already in BRU when we arrived 2 hours before flight ), we had to wait in the bus in front of the plane for 15 minutes...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
I very much doubt that LH would allow SN to cooperate with AB. LH will for sure try to get every Asia passenger travel via FRA/MUC, or on direct SN flights ( to BOM for example).

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Shame on those police unions. Do people who need to take the subway in Brussels - where more victims were made - need to be there 3 hours in advance as well for ridiculous security checks ??? No ? What is the logic then of the airport screenings ???

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks
Does anybody have more news about Vueling operations as of Wednesday the 6th of April ? I fly out of Lille tomorrow, fine, but wonder if my return flight from Lisbon on Wednesday evening will be operating back to Lille or BRU... A bit risky to drive my car to Lille and then find out the return is to...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
I like the expression Koja78 uses of "good sportmenship". I fly as much FR as I fly SN, and have no specific preference, that is not the discussion or topic here. It is about granting someone else a place in the sun as well. How many hubs does FR has ? About 70 ? So it is fair to say about...

Re: Brussels Airlines introduces one-way fares at 39 euro
And now it is waiting for the first ultra smart booking platform, which, when for example requesting a return flight from Brussels to Rome, will give you the best possible rate by mixing airlines, as for example outbound on SN, return on FR... I recently did send a message to the BRUXX website admin...

BA0397 was G-EUOI BA0404 was G-EUUL Many thanks Freken ! I can now add it to the list of aircraft I flew in, for any reason I did not n...
