Trip report: Antwerp - Barcelona and back

After enjoying reading others' flight reports on this forum, I decided to try and make a first trip report myself. A short trip for a long weekend in Barcelona seemed an ideal opportunity. Member Shengenzone seemed to have made a similar tripreport about a year ago, even with a video report which ca...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

Between P1 and P2 is a wide area currently used as kiss&fly zone. Maybe the entire P1 can be a security-problem, but the space between the terminal and P1 is big enough for a parking or kiss&fly. 100 pax is a lot compared to the traffic before TUI/Jetairfly, but it's not that much after all....

Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2017

As stated in https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/etihad- ... hrow-ey19/:
The crew didn’t wanted to declare a fuel emergency.
Why? Are there penalties on such emergency and is it cheaper to fly LGW-LHR?

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

There's a difference between all the decisions will have to be submitted to the LH Board for final approval and big decisions (impacting long term strategy/budget) get the "blessing" of the parent company. The question is where to draw the line, what's a big decision, and what is a smaller...

Risking to pose a noobie-question: isn't that door on the other side compared to other popular aircraft? And how do those airbridges at the gates handle this?

What was the damage to the tarmac? From the on-board video it seems at least the propellers have scraped a bit of it, the fuselage or the wing tip too perhaps?

And in the light of the merger by Lufthansa: they also have a lot more Airbus than Boeing (only 747's), so they won't be pushing to move to Boeing either.

23th Jan 2017: Cityjet WX-230 Antwerp-London City ANR-LCY (ATR-42 LY-DAT) had to divert to Southend-on-Sea because of dense fog at London. Re: EgyptAir A300 Cargo ignores ATC instructions and causes near collision with Air France A320 above Ghent/Gent/Gand

91 metres vertical and 1370 metres horizontal makes about 1373 metres diagonal. But for thinking time ,it's only about 5 seconds to react ! I'm not minimising the incident. It's just not as close as 90 metres, as luchtzak pointed out before: 300 feet that is 91 meters, that is close in aviation ter...

Re: EgyptAir A300 Cargo ignores ATC instructions and causes near collision with Air France A320 above Ghent/Gent/Gand

Your initial conversion was correct Bart. 300 feet x 0.3048 = 91.44 metres. Belgium's AAIU reported that the separation between the two aircraft reduced to 300 feet vertical and 0.74nm horizontal. The aircraft wheren't straight above eachother, so you'll have to throw some Pythagoras into the equat...
