Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
In meantime, the NS is testing the new ordered Intercity New Generation trains. They will come into service in 2021. Also those new trains will be used between Schiphol and Brussels Airport and will replace the Thalys. Are you sure. I think they will replace the IC direct between Brussels and Amste...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Airbus A220's? Lufthansa/Swiss? Nope, Lufthansa is already wet-leasing 2 A220's from Air Baltic. Air Baltic is in the ACMI business and would have been more 'cost effective'. But they don't have A220's available for ACMI at the moment. The A220-100 would have been perfect out of ANR (Air Baltic has...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Regarding Tel Aviv, and some wikipedia'ing... BRU-TLV is 3255km, so expect about the same for ANR. ANR has a runway of 1510m. A Fokker 50 has a maximum range of 1700km (and it would take over 6 hours to fly there), so that's no option at all. But what are the options... Good-old Avro's? CityJet has ...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
If I remember well, they flew ANR-LCY in the past, and that company went bankrupt. Why try again?
Maybe because they have a better plan now?

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
In short: * Rumours about flights to Geneva, Zurich, Hamburg, Munich, Manchester and even Tel Aviv. No company mentioned or insinuated. * Parking P2 will be expanded, old buildings will be broken down as Parking P3 will become a bus-garage for De Lijn. * Antwerp Airport is profitable, but discussion...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
That is a very strange way of thinking. So according to you the home carrier should focus more on holiday destinations instead of business and connecting pax. Well whit this kind of model you can implement EW here than. Holiday flights should be secondary and not the main purpose. Or even better to...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
SN should open more direct flights to business destinations with a high frequency When they can't fill the planes that would be a loss-making strategy, so it would be stupid to do so... And why focus on connecting passengers flying to business destinations, and thereby neglecting leisure travelers ...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
The current aircraft, even the newer are not suitable for such long flight. For those flight a proper rest area (a bunk) is needed for the rest of the crew. The current configuration is then not suitable. Bunk should be installed in the cargo area with an access from the cabin. If not, no longer fl...

Re: Lufthansa in 2019
Giving up Eurowings is a threat to Lufthansa itself as well. If some other company takes over Eurowings, or Eurowings stops and someone else takes over the flights, it will be a stronger competitor to LH than Eurowings was. So even if EW isn't profitable as-is, it might keep LH profitable. Three glo...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?
Why would an airport care about the alliances and their placement? The only reason would be to accommodate transferring passengers and limit their connection time. But having the connecting passengers walk through your revenue-generating mall, and on the other hand keeping Shengen/non-Shengen split...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport
People, let’s stop with this drama! Can anyone explain this guy that we are in Europe and here the planes are checked and if any aircraft is not fit for flying, it doesn’t fly! For such a short hop and for a total stay on board of perhaps one hour, a turboprop is more than acceptable. A member said...

I thought I remembered reading (here?) BRU-LAX was too far for SN, but on the other hand, I can see A330 flights from LAX to AMS, MAD,... So it should be possible?TLspotting wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 15:22 One of the 2 new routes might be Los Angeles, operated by Brussels Airlines (only rumor).

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport
KLM already offers Thalys-tickets from Antwerp (ZWE) to AMS. As it's more KLM supporting this than AirFrance, I don't think ANR-CDG will be a thing very soon (and ANR-AMS neither). I thought they were one company.. Air France KLM is the holding group, with Air France and KLM as subsidiaries. Beneat...

So the Ansett member predicts CS will sell SN ...one day... but to whom? And the PttU member thinks that LH only keeps SN ...making money...so that another operator does not land at BRU and threatens LH! Two opposing strategies ...two strategies that do not help the development of BRU... Not necess...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport
And, moreover, there is a codeshare with KLM, so it should help a lot to get the airplane as full as possible! The hours of the flights are just perfect, I will spend many weekends in London I feel... :-) What are the benefits of the codeshare besides selling tickets on the klm.com-website and earn...
