Allow me to go against the flow here, and say that this journalist has done nothing wrong in my eyes. Maybe his motives were purely to cause sensation (after all, this is VTM, a network dishing out trash mainly), but the fact remains that he has revealed how lax security is when it comes to hiring s...

I have flown to BKK twice, in 2002 and 2003. On both occasions I left from CDG, first trip on Gulf Air with stops in BAH and DXB, second on EVA Airways with a stop in TPE. Not exactly the most convenient of routes, both in time spent and miles flown, but due to late booking they were the best I coul...

Do you know if Krakow or Katowice have good LCC connections with places like Bratislava or Prague? Krakow and Katowice are relatively small airports. Only Krakow has connections with other Central European countries: Budapest (Malev) and Prague (CSA Czech Airlines). Thanks sn26567. Who knows, by th...

But what about air miles earned on airlines that no longer exist? I'm referring to Ansett Australia in my case. Frankly speaking, for Ansett, I don't know. Were your miles accrued on the airline's own programme, or on a programme of an alliance? I had actually booked on Malaysian Airlines, but the ...

Do air miles from one company count on another company that's part of the same alliance? (I guess not, but you never know) Usually yes: in July I used my Lufthansa FF miles for a trip to WAW during which I flew on LH, LO and OS, all for the same price (i.e. FF miles). In 2000 I flew to San Francisc...

Thanks for this report! I've been busy planning a rather extended tour of Central Europe, and I had thought of going to Krakow, because everywhere I hear it's such a beautiful town, but then I decided on Warsaw because it has better connections with other Central European countries. I'm changing my ...

You can usually register to the website of the airline, get a login and password, and check your miles. From my personal experience, I know it works with LH Miles and More, SN Privilege, Delta and Continental. Thanks for the information! I'll try and find if I'm due any free flights yet (fat chance...

My first flight was in november 1996, flying from Amsterdam to Sydney, with an unscheduled stop in Zürich and a scheduled stop in Kuala Lumpur. From Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur the airplane was a KLM one, from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney it was Malaysian Airlines. Type used was a Boeing 747 (that's all I k...

When I was at Charleroi Airport in June (waiting for a Ryanair aircraft to take me to Dublin), I saw (and heard!) a military jet take off. My guess is it was an F-16. Now I'm not an expert on Charleroi airport (or any airport for that matter), but I take it military aircraft there use the same runwa...
