Re: Dreamlifter with a problem...

AIRBORNE !!! -THE END - ;) Perhaps not the end. What actions might the pilots find themselves taking as they explain the situation. In all fairness to the pilots, there are 3 airports within 8 miles (13km); all have runways that line up on the same coordinates. The Beechcraft Airport, however is sl...

Re: Dreamlifter with a problem...

My daughter lives in Wichita, about 3 miles (5 km) from Jabarra Airport and she sent me this link with 3 stories from the Wichita Eagle newspaper - interesting. I wonder if the US unemployment ranks grew by 2 more people? see: http://www.kansas.com/2013/11/21/3132439/dreamlifter-lands-at-jabara-airp...

Concept shown in Aviation Week and Space Technology is a hypersonic UAV. Might be interesting.

Re: Engine start of a rare P-47D Thunderbolt warbird.

Old warbirds like these are like St. Bernard dogs - they are expensive to feed and they'll take a big bite out of your wallet! I worked with a WW2 pilot who flew the P-51 in Europe; he always said it was a blast to fly, but you want to do it on Uncle Sam's money.

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news

they don't, its just marketing lying and playing with some figures fitting best their needs. its not just boeing but airbus, car makers, ... you name it do it I don't believe it is lying, per se, but an engineering estimate based of known facts. The A-320 is heavier than the current B-737 and uses ...

Re: USA to approve Israeli KC-135 tanker + V-22 Osprey purch

Given the age of the KC-135's, I'm surprised that the Israeli's want to purchase them, especially with their ability to convert B-767's to tankers.

Re: Boeing 787 and 748 news

Anyone knows any "reason" why the 747-8i isn't that much of a seller ? I've noticed the cargo is doing quite ok but the passenger version isn't selling that much ... no demand or not living up to expectations ?? Maybe both, but I guess it's mostly because Boeing isn't really making an eff...

Why are EK and QR not happy with the design? did they want it to look like a space ship or stick to being A330 like? Will they be using same engines as 787, doe sthat mean airbus will too recommend white only engine colour to customers, screwing up many a liveries in the bargain like Boeing have do...

Re: CLOSE CALL: video near-collision tanking Nato E-3 with K

And now you know why the KC-135 boom extends 35+ feet (10 meters) below and behind the tanker!! The E-3 did react violently in yaw - I assume that the pilot was a wee bit heavy handed for the plane to react so quickly.
