Re: Emirates vs. the rest : Der Spiegel Online

@sn-remember: true. It's really amazing to see the huge capacity the GCC carriers have been able to deploy in Europe. It's not uncommon at all to see two EK 388 at the same time in LHR. Unbelievable. I'm sure EK would order the 389 once it's available. It's already open war between LH group and EK, ...

Re: 6th A330 for Brussels Airlines ?

Forget about a sixth in 2011. :( 2012 is more realistic, they're normally obliged to launch a joint-venture on TATL out of BRU, most probably JFK, an A332 would be ideal for the mission. So we might still wonder if the sixth is for N.A or new destinations in AFI. So many factor will play as 2011 won...

Re: what the hell is this new FR delay/cancel levy tax?

For once, I fully agree with FR. It's not normal that people who book a return ticket for 10€ (excl. taxes and extras, I admit) are entitled to get hotels, foods and drinks expenses covered by their airline during crisis like the one we've had a year ago with the volcano. People want everything for ...

Re: Taxi's blocking Brussels Airport after police shot drive

There is a MAFIA of airport's taxi in BRU, and this exists in many countries (PARIS is not bad in that category as well). It is well known that many Brussel taxi are transporting people from airport to city and are refereed as "pirat taxis" moreover at very expensive fares. Many of those d...

Re: Brussels Airlines suffers from rising fuel price

One can understand that rising fuel price is a major issue, but it's the same fate for everyone. As far as I know, pax already pay quite an hefty fuel surcharge. But I know it doesn't cover all the extra cost, at least it helps. I'm just disappointed by a certain lack of vision of SN in its long-hau...

Re: New website Brussels Airport

This is how a decent, professional airport website should look like: http://www.helsinki-vantaa.fi/home I persist and I maintain, BRU website is crap and ugly. When I browse it I have the impression to be on Ryanair website on Aldi/Renmans website to order meat for a bbq. A nice website (like the H...

Re: TAP starts flight to Accra

On another note, bmi will be introducing Airbus A330-200 service on London Heathrow – Freetown in late june, as one A330-200 will be returned by TK after its lease period. With the new bmi cabins, it's a nice premium product. Frequencies reduced to thrice weekly as result. Day 3-5-7 with the homebou...

Re: Brussels Airlines flights to Abidjan: cancellations & ch

What happened in I.C is just beyond imagination. There are bodies everywhere in Abidjan, everything has been looted, the economy is close to level 0. Just realize that five to six thousands french expats account for 35% of the I.C economy and they lost EVERYTHING. Not sure they'll want to invest in ...

Re: BTO vs Lufthansa

Let's rather say that BTO is not swallowing the amount of commissions on tickets they lost the last 5-10 years. Arent't they ??? BTW, I think LH Group has to give way (slots) to competitors on routes such as ZRH, FRA, HAM (I could be wrong on which exact cities) provided that competitors want to ope...

Re: New BRU website

I don't think because a few times per year the website is overloaded, they should leave out the icons and type of aircraft. It can't be that hard to change from one site to another on these periods. I call this Belgian amateurism at its best. A good advice, use flightstats. This new BRU apt website...

...And if you want my opinion Senegal will be the first country of the Black Africa to have a kind of Jasmine revolution. Maybe not in 2011 but for sure in 2012 as I'm sure the population won't let Wade through again.

Unbelievable. Before it was JAF, now TCB. And our Belgian flag carrier stays with its old fleet and absolutely no growth plans at all.
