Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Other rumours suggest that Lufthansa is slowing down the decision process in order not to trail SN in terms of hard-product. Nope. New seats need to be certified, and it seems that the certification process takes more time than expected. ...well let's rather say that this is what the internal commu...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
What about their future J & W A330 seat choice ?
I've heard the Thompson Vantage XL had the edge, but nothing really new since then.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OO-SFY has/had PW4168 engines. On the Home page, the SN Rejuvenating article referred to standardization on Trent 772-60 engines. Could it be that this is what they do now in LIS? I was under the impression that changing engine type is not that simple. Tango and Zulu have also the PW engines. H.A. ...

Re: BRU Winter 2018-19: news, new routes, airlines
 Anyone having reliable informations about Qatar Airways ops out of BRU ? From December 15th 2018 until March 31st 2019 the A359 seem to operate again, the 77W would be back for the summer season though. Can someone confirm this ? There were no announcements whatsoever, even though it's a pro...

Re: 25-26-27-28/10/2018 Aviapartner strike at Brussels Airport
It's time for Laurent Levaux (president Aviapartner Belgium) to go. He clearly isn't competent at all. Maybe it's time for a more Flemish/Northern European style management. Let me laugh and I hope you are kidding on this one... REALLY. There is no more gesta*** - flemish style company operating ou...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
Qatar Airways is reintroducing the A350-900 (but without Qsuites) as from March 31st, seemingly on both of its flights (QR194/196).
It's rather an upgrade in terms of pax comfort, as the 77W still have the (very) old QR product on the BRU route.

Re: Air Belgium in 2018
The airline could be dissolved as from tonight according to the press and some insiders of SoWaer: http://www.lalibre.be/economie/libre-entreprise/situation-financiere-tres-tendue-chez-air-belgium-une-assemblee-generale-extraordinaire-prevue-ce-jeudi-5bc812efcd70e3d2f62fe2b0 "net assets are red...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
I already mentioned in another topic that UA will have one of its three daily flights operated by a 787 as from March 31st 2019.
Since the first new 78J will be based in EWR, my two cents go to the BRU-EWR route.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Contrary to what their PR is saying, there is no change for the Dakar pax: the daily flight is already non-stop in both directions. The only change is that there will be 3 flights/week with no further destination (Banjul), adding some capacity on the route. I guess the Conakry flights will become a...

Re: BRU Summer 2019: news, new routes, airlines
About Icelandair:
This clearly shows that flying a single aisle (twice or once) on a TATL journey is no longer a hurdle for the consumers.
Moreover WOW is doing great from BRU too... Often more than half of the flights are filled with pax transferring to Boston.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Does anybody know why the Loop programme of Brussels Airlines is under maintenance for months? Do they want to get rid of it? Just a wild guess: merger discussions with the similar Eurowings programme "Boomerang"? This being said, I wonder why Brussels Airlines, just like Eurowings, feel ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
The future ticket sales and fares integration of SN's European ops into the Eurowings pole could be speed up by the beginning of the S19 season (thus March 31st 2019). SN's African ops under the SN brand seems to be written in the marble for the mid-future... It's less certain as far as NATL ops are...

Re: Expansion United Airlines
As from April 1st 2019, a Dreamliner should be deployed on one of UA's BRU routes .
I can only see IAD as a candidate, since EWR and ORD aren't yet 787 bases for UA.

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Expansion.
Dear SN26567, ET never "siphoned" any SN pax as the codeshare agreement was limited in terms of seats numbers. ET definitely doesn't need SN to have its operations worked out of BRU, believe me. At a given time, when mutual trust was broken between 9W and SN, there was indeed a pax siphonn...

Re: Brussels Airlines loses three of its 7 weekly frequencies to Kinshasa
Troubled times ahead for DR Congo. Simply. Elections are always a period where demand is slowing down, both pax and cargo. I assume forward booking where much lower than what they used to be at this time of the year. And I think it looks to be even more difficult this year as far as these "elec...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
 I don't want to minimize the work carried out when a retrofit is completed at SN (SN mechanics are amongst the best when it comes to line maintenance), but it's a fact that their retrofits are not always up the details. Look at how Delta retrofits its 767 for example. Some even feature the B...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Fact is a 9 years old airplane will always (most likely) look better than a 25 years old one. There is retrofit and retrofit. When SN says it retrofits a plane it's minimalist to say the least. The last years (2005-2006 / 2012-2013) it was only removing old seats for new ones, almost the same lavato...
