It is quite likely that this is a political action, to highlight the potential danger and to force the police to act. I'd wait a final report before making a conclusion... The "rescue" flight is because the slides were used to evacuate the airplane I think.

I don't know if it has anything related with brussels airlines, but a Airbus 340 Lufthansa came in Liege and is now on storage, not planned to leave soon...

Only problem being having space in the bins when you're the last... Can't figure out how people take so many things with them...
