Re: Poll: checked-in luggage policy
I personally feel airlines should be required to advertise prices for standard, easy to compare products, including the same "options" for every airline. This would provide much better consumer protection, avoid nasty surprises at the airport etc. Airlines who want to give passengers a bet...

Re: old long haul destinations ex BRU
And LAP (Lineas Aereas de Paraguay) to Asuncion (I don't remember where they stopped en route between BRU and ASU ; does anyone remember ?) When I travelled to Chile with them (1988) ; they were still flying 707s, they refuelled at Dakar between Brussels and Ascunsion. On the way back they refuelle...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Maybe if they can promote their South-American network from IAH? But they already serve many S-A markets from EWR and currently CO only runs 3 destinations in Europe from IAH: CDG, LHR and AMS. The next route will be FRA. I don't think we will soon see a CO IAH-BRU rotation. South American market v...

Re: UA to charge 'heavy' people for extra seat
the guy in the window seat was "big" in the hips and shoulders. I was pushed to the side and squeezed under the arm rest. If check was a bit more considerate, they could have put him in an aisle seat. At least that way big people can move their bulk somewhat out of the way for most of the...

Some of my experiences are from long ago ; older to more recent ; economy except for upgrades Lineas Aereas Paraguyas 3/10 (old 707, out of business a long time ago) Ladeco 6/10 (now part of LAN) Alitalia 7/10 (long time ago) Lufthansa 4/10 (flight canceled - defective airplane) Air India 5/10 Jetai...

Re: Best way to get to/from CDG if you're not flying AF or SN?
As far as I know you can book the ticket separately, I believe the trains between Brussels-South and CDG are no longer run by Thalys, but by the SNCF, so you have to look on their website (quite complicated). I'm quite certain it's usually possible to find a ticket at a reduced rate, more so if you ...

Well actually those railway tracks are the goods railway tracks, they have no connection with the Antwerp central station, they go directly towards the harbour. I remember a few years back, when I still lived in Antwerp, my train from Brussels to Antwerp quite regularly rode on those tracks, so def...

CDG of Keulen.

Re: visas
BIMAN passengers were not even allowed to leave the plane during a stop in BRU. Definitely no longer true e.g. for the Etihad flights AUH-BRU-YYZ, everybody had to leave the plane both times I took this flight. Given Jet Airways want to use Brussels as a hub, most of their passengers will have to c...

There is the Air France/TGV cooperation on the TGV-line Bruxelles-Midi (ZYR) and Paris Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2. I even think you can check-in in Bruxelles-Midi to your final destination, if you fly with Air France or one of the other Skyteam members of course. But I'm not 100% sure of thist la...

Re: New timetable Etihad: Direct BRU and direct YYZ
They didn't erase the EY502 flight yet on the Etihad website. The last EY501 would leave Abu-Dhabi on Wed May 30th. I got a fare quoted for the EY502 flight on june 9th, this flight appears until the timetable for august. Looks like they still need to finalise the transition between the new direct f...

10 abreast 777
You need a 747 to go 10-abreast, and not a single 777 which is significantly wider than the A350 has a 10abreast configuration, so i guess 3-3-3 is the maximum for both 787 and A350 For an example of 10-abreast on 777 (Emirates), see : http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Emirates_Airlines/Emirates_Air...

Re: decrease flights from Hainan ?
Be carefull in the way at the beginnig they had 60 passengers , now they get full pax , this will change their mind , wait and see. A very embarresing case for the dutch authorities. Why should the dutch authorities be embarrassed ? The ...
