Re: Flights cancelled due to volcanic ash cloud from Iceland
BRU airport closed from 16.30 The ash cloud is foreseen to be overhead Benelux tomorrow morning according the official meteorological services(IRM/KMI). Why do they then already close the airspace now ? Small clarification: the only advisory organ for Belgian civil aviation and its airports is the ...

Re: Kingfisher at BRU tonight ?
Very unusual visitor indeed ! Just passed overhead my home a few minutes ago ! Seems to be a stopover of DEL-LHR flight (arrival in Heatrow is delayed of +/- 3 hours). What should be the reason ???

Re: Sabena DVD from Cinematek
Hello, I also ordered the DVD on 31/10 via "La DH" and didn't received any parcel this day. I've just send an email (in french) with copy of my order confirmation. I also did mention this forum pointing out that there were a lot of people who didn't receive any valid answer from their serv...

Re: Live air traffic above BE
For ATC BOX "Gold Members", just open the ATC BOX Live application (Live Radar Stream) and choose the Maastricht Beek Airport panel (EHBK). You should be able to follow all departing and arriving traffic for EBBR until/from about 500 feet altitude. The only remaining problem (but maybe doe...

Re: SXM runways
The reason is the drift of the magnetic pole (see explanation below) (source WIKIPEDIA) "Runway designations change over time because the magnetic poles slowly drift on the Earth's surface and the magnetic bearing will change. Depending on the airport location and how much drift takes place, it...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines
During the summer I had booked a Lisbon - Milan - Brussels on LH Italy (Economy). LH Italy cancelled the route between Milan and Brussels and I was rebooked on SN ... on B-Light. I find this is not 100% honest. On the LIS - MXP section I received a hot meal free, on the MXP - BRU section I had...

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST
If you look on 'flightaware', it seems that the aircraft turned back when already overhead the Atlantic Ocean. Maybe a medical emergency ? But in that case, why didn't they choose Gander that was closer ?

Re: Beautiful approaches
In my opinion, approaches to Nice are always beautifull, especially when Rwy 23 is in use with a final left turn at low altitude over "La Baie des Anges". Geneva is also often nice when clear weather (especially in winter) allows the sight on the Alps Mountains and the Mont Blanc during th...
