Actually it's the captain's call, according to ICAO. If a baby of which the parents are from country A and B, is born on a regular passenger flight between country C and D, on a plane registered in country E, when overflying country F, unless local laws permit, the captain will have the authority of...

Free wireless, free drinks, free food and a place to relax or work while waiting. Most airlines will do everything to keep these first and business pax because they make your airline profitable. It seems to me there is not such a thing between LCC or full service. Good point. I remember the big wor...

I've talked to Ryanair cabin crew working in CRL lately and they said most of the people staying longer are happy and that newcomers have difficult to keep the pace. It's a matter of getting used to it. The salary is very good. CRL based people get the nett salary of F/O's at B.air :D (excl. night-s...

Since 3 weeks B.flex is booming indeed, sometimes we end up having more B flex pax than B light. That's a general phenomenon and has been noticed on every airline flying to/from Belgium, from the beginning of September. In just the same way, every single 3+ star hotel in Brussels has been fully boo...

An operational profit of just...1.6% of total revenue... I mean...it's not bad, but this clearly demonstrates the lack of efficiency, doens't it? For example SQ has over 10% of operational profit... http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_UK/docs/company_info/investor/financial/NewsReleaseFY0607.pdf But ...

There is no questionning that the A320 was the first airliner with digital fly-by-wire and that in this area, Airbus has way more experience than does Boeing. It's a matter of philosophy and the Airbus philosophy turned out to be very good as well, which is why Boeing is going to enhance the FBW con...

You might be right but might also not be  The B747 was also a gamble in the very beginning with Pan Am as launch customer for an order of 25 aircraft. I think they were one of the few who ordered the B747 before EIS. The A380 isn't at EIS yet and has already received 170 orders. At the moment ...

ILFC orders 20 A350XWB
We all know ILFC is going to have to jump on the train for the A350 XWB.
It's just a matter of time but the question is when?
They can't wait too long anymore, as delivery slots start to fill.

That's just a price-dropping strategy  Emirates needs to replace A330 and B777's. The B787 therefore is too small, certainly for Emirates that praises Business/First most of all. I see them ordering the B747i for the same reason as Lufthansa, they can use them as cargo-conversions later. At le...
