Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

Played a bit with the filename and found one for VLM Regional: https://mobilit.belgium.be/sites/default/files/DGLV/be.mg_.27.pdf Strange thing is that also mention an AOC number, but this is B-3054 while Air Belgium has B-3053 which is a lower number, the CAMO certificate of VLM dates back to Januar...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

https://mobilit.belgium.be/sites/default/files/DGLV/be.mg_.28.pdf It's something but it isn't the AOC (yet). It even specifically says "This approval does not constitute an authorization to operate the types of aircrafts referred in paragraph 1. The authorization to operate the aircraft is the...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

You don't need an AOC to register a plane. The sole things needed to register a plane are valid paperwork (concerning that particular plane). If you personally (or through a company/organisation) want to register a plane and you have valid paperwork for set plane there's nothing that limits the BCAA...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

and will be arriving shortly, SNM is in EW colors tho... so probably they’ll repaint it into SN as it would be to soon to have a EW branded plane in BRU ... Probably, unless they'll like to add some fuel on the fire... Maybe one of them will have the Smurfs theme? When was that going to be unveiled?

Re: VLM Airlines news 2018

Nothing published yet in the "Belgian State Gazette" at this point, last publication was last month with change of management. Seems that the Brussels operations is called VLM Airlines NV (name change, ex-TCAB NV) and SHS Antwerp Aviation NV has registered the trade name VLM Regional (thou...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

It's the same administration, the BCAA, that delivers the registrations and the AOCs. One can hope that their people speak to each other. The problem is, even though it's the same administration, there is no legal groundwork available to refuse one a registration. While the BCAA can withhold an AOC...

Seems that approximately 2 years of time isn't enough to get an airplane painted

Anyway, I'm glad they didn't paint it due to the incorrect order of colours

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?

If a first plane arrives, I guess it will bring certification if they need one ;) They can have planes without an AOC. You don't need an AOC to lease/own/rent a plane, you need an AOC for commercial operations with the aircrafts. If they have licensed pilots they can even take them out for a spin a...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Does Star Alliance really need to ask any company to be its member? I'm afraid it works different, the company has to do its best to be able to become a member and as Eurowings is not a member of this alliance it is obvious they will do everything to keep SN as a member of Star Alliance. That way t...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

But what does that mean? Could still mean it is the HQ of a company flying out of Dusseldorf Well, currently EW doesn't fly long haul, they subcontract it to other companies who fly on behalf of EW. This will change in the future by letting SN operate all long haul flights for EW instead, this way ...
