Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Thanks for the interesting figures which we (including me) tend to forget. I don't know if your figures are 100% accurate, but I am inclined to believe they are close to reality The social and fiscal revenues from Brussels Airlines that I quoted are based on their 2018 annual account, which is the ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Are we so proud that we will continue to put money in a bottomless pit? FWIW, the 'bottomless pit' is actually quite lucrative for the Belgian government! Let me explain: Last year, they've booked a loss of some 25M on a turnover of 1,6BN euro indeed, but they: - contributed more than 40M euro in s...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Add to that 1 governor of Brussels (as well as 1 vice-governor from the different language group) even though Brussels is not a province: nobody can tell you what these 2 are actually doing, but the law stipulates these as offical functions to fill at all times, so it is done. Not to forget the most...

Re: Ryanair (Holdings) in 2020

You CAN ask for a refund from Brussels Airlines. I have been refunded by them for all my planned flights in March for instance. It will however take time So let’s stop the discussion then: please provide us with the way to ask for a refund from Brussels Airlines! The website says you can ask for a ...

Oh, please not again.. You CAN ask for a refund from Brussels Airlines. I have been refunded by them for all my planned flights in March for instance. It will however take time, like as good as everywhere else, because every airline is simpy overwhelmed with these demands as this report gives...

Re: Ryanair (Holdings) in 2020

The CEO of Ryanair went on BBC this morning to defend his company against claims it holds on to the money of millions of its passengers who are waiting for reimbursement of their unusable tickets. He stated his company normally receives about 10,000 requests for refund (per month?), has doubled admi...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Nice article from “de Tijd” about the corporate hypocrisy and the “we’re in this together” message they tried to portray. (...) I tend to agree with this article quite strongly https://www.tijd.be/opinie/column/Virale-hypocrisie/10223881 It's impossible not to agree with the moral values portrayed ...

Some news about Spohr's position: https://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/lufthansa-krise-101.html I have tried to summarise from a google translation as I don't know German, but here is the gist of it: Basically he saying he doesn't want to be told where to fly from by politicians. He also wants a ba...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Meanwhile, I saw that SN could phase out 10 planes. Does it include the City Jet planes or will they phase out Dome A319s, A320s or even A330s ? The planes of Cityjet are normally calculated in those 10, or around 10, planes that has to leave the fleet. More will be announced soon what the strategy...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

The only conclusion seems to be that neither Belgians nor Germans & Belgians can make a Belgian airline profitable. So, why keep it alive ? I don't want Belgian taxpayers money to be spent on it, especially when we are faced with major health and sanitary problems. If LH wants to keep it alive ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

These guys should learn to sh**** up when they don’t know what they are talking about. Like Noels should have done when he wrote that crap about the 737 MAX. 346 people have been killed because of designer errors and certification issues with the 737 MAX. Noels' analysis wasn't "crap" at ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Seems like the lockdown is well respected, going by the many posts on such a beautiful day! 8-) Anyway, reading through all of it, I find this to be a very weird discussion, since the only question that matters is really simple: Do you think it a strategic advantage for our country's economy (and th...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

One of Belgium’s leading economists, Geert Noels, is not impressed by the bailout, on Twitter he talks about throwing money away and LH conning the Belgian state a second time. Woudn't it be better to wait for details of the deal before making comments as to whether it's a good idea? At present all...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2020

Just an idea here, but could it be there's some confusion as to what TUI we're talking about? Because to me it sounds like the operations of the package holiday company in Belgium can find shelter under the German umbrella -which is not so surprisingly at all-, but nowhere do they explicitly mention...

Re: Air Belgium in 2020

I agree that if their demand is addressed to the Belgian government, it stands a fairly low chance of being approved since they are of no strategic importance to our nation whatsoever. However, they do have an important role to play at CRL airport, given the regional airport had big hopes of using t...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

My flights (5 in total) are cancelled by SN and I am not interested in the voucher they offer me and which will become worthless next year. I do understand they are busy and have other priorities for the moment and that a refund can take some time. However SN doesn’t allow me to ask for a refund. I...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

The voucher from SN is not refundable, it’s clear: valid for rebooking till April 2021, full stop. Indeed, because you can get your money back as an alternative if you're sure you're not going to fly and use the voucher... Or do you have a document stating they will not refund your ticket, like KLM...

Which part of “becomes refundable” don’t you understand? Please, for your own sake, stop it: it's getting extrelemy pathetic now…. Romax nailed it: you're just looking for things to make them look bad with and in this case it is clearly backfired because contrary to others, they still handle reques...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

back to reality - KLM is not offering me a refund: I can only rebook or take a voucher as you see for yourself on their website; since I have no clue when I'll be able to travel, I took the voucher and will redeem it once the situation becomes clearer. THAT's the reality outside of this forum, sir....
