Re: A400M project cancellation?
Interesting read, but I don't fully agree. Most of the points mentioned took place in the past, and already had their impact on the project (delay and higher cost). I don't see what the inter-European competition between fighters has to do with it. What exactly is the impact of this on the A400M? Or...

Re: A400M project cancellation?
The Antonov is a wonderful plane, no doubt about that. If it will ever reach production? Don't think so... Antonov can not show that they are capable to run a full scale production of a big plane since 20 years, the main problem of most aircraft producers in the CIS. Not a single Western country wil...

If not on a local AOC, would they operate under the (Belgian) Brussels Airlines one, a new one, or a new one in a third country?tolipanebas wrote:not going to operate on a local AOC

What about going for answer A in the list above, perhaps with a Portugal-Angola like arrangement...

Re: EU blacklist: update Nov 09: 3 new African countries banned
As far as I know the Portuguese authorities are helping the Angolans to improve their flight safety. Might be the reason why they're allowed to fly to Portugal only. I think it's funny that all in a sudden Sao Tome and Principe shows up on the list. Any link with the HewaBora lease  ? Apart fro...

Re: Belgian Government: 1 A330 will replace the A310's
Why would they need a hangar in Belgium? This plane is a dry/wet lease combination. Based on a 12 hour "call time", this means the aircraft doesn't need to be present in Belgium as long as the military doesn't need it, and that hi-fly can use it on other flights for other companies. So acc...

Just to be clear: the only reason Aeroflot did this was in a move to evade local import taxes.sdbelgium wrote:basically they did "an Aeroflot" (who also register their planes on the Bermuda Islands, hence the VP prefix).

I passed there the first time as well last week. At the security they asked the people to take off their shoes. When I asked if it was necessary they had to admit they can't force anyone to do this at that stage of security check. Anyway, being a good civilian, I did. When arriving back home, I noti...

Slightly off topic, but why not have it done by Lufthansa Technics now? I guess they already have the capabilities to do most of this maintenance.
