Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines

On the taxation level there is one more thing to be added. JAF is not carrying cargo at this moment, nor is it planning to do so (as far as I know). So as for national trades interests, SN is the one to go for. JAF is not carrying cargo? Really? Our flights to BRU from PUJ and CUN are loaded with c...

Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines

@JAFflyer What stops JAF to negociate a codeshare with SN if they really want to add the DRC to their portfolio? On the other hand you have and airline that has quite the history in DRC, a reliable airline with a strong history, no incidents, an airline that knows how to operate in the DRC, an airl...

Re: 2 additional frequencies to D.R.C. for Brussels Airlines

So everybody thinks it's perfectly normal that Wathelet grants these rights to Brussels Airlines, because it suits them better than JAF. While JAF could probably operate these flights at a way lower price than the disgusting prices Brussels Airlines is asking on this route. The Congolese community w...

Re: 2.5 YEARS in jail for shining laser at Citation+police h

For the rest, you can keep nagging and overreacting, it's not going to get people killed nor is it going to stop. Ok, so let's all wait for the first plane crash then. It distracts the pilot of a jetliner containing sometimes +500 passengers, isn't that a sound reason to ask for high penalty's? Sho...

Re: 2.5 YEARS in jail for shining laser at Citation+police h

Oh come on, don't overdo it. A laser shining from hundreds meters of distance from below, going through air that is seldom clear enough, filtered through a pair of good sunglasses and the sunscreens (if you can get them that low that is) in the cockpit is nothing compared to a westbound sunset land...

Re: Young boy takes flight from BRU to Malaga without any pa

He is not fully correct, it is a shared procedure, which means none of the two checked the kid. Therefore, it is a mixed responsability of the gate agent and the ccm involved. But, indeed, the kid should have never been allowed to be at the gate in the first place.

Re: Charleroi Airport (CRL) latest news 2012

Yes, and in how many European airports do you find free wifi? At least in BRU and CRL it's free to a significant part of the passengers as Telenet is a big provider. And André, do you really believe CRL gets it's pax solely from the CRL or Walloon area?? I don't think it even accounts for 40% actual...

It is possible, but the workload would be huge. If you can have a helping hand, tuning frequencies, doing ATC, reading checklists, that would help a lot!

Re: Next A330 for SN: 200 or 300? What should/will it be?

Talking about this, SN's A333s are getting older by the day with no replacement plan in sight. That's just because there is absolutely no long term vision at SN. The average age of their 319-320 fleet is about 10 years old and this is a relatively "new" fleet for them (at least the 320 is...

Re: 700 jobs threatened at Brussels Airlines?

@ Teddybair: when I started, the aviation wasn't pretty. It was 2 years after 2001 and in my first 2 months sobelair went bust aswell. But when I graduated, I was lucky. Airliners were inviting me over for interviews and it took 4 months before I got my seat (no, no additional TR costs and I did wor...

Re: IAG considers making offer for Vueling

I think, the Iberia-express thing is exactly the same as the clickair thing. They are doing the exact same thing as in BCN, but now in MAD. Iberia express will disappear and vueling will take over. Or, how to bypass the unions when everything else has failed. Iberia just announced 4,500 jobs will be...

Re: BRU winter 2012-2013: latest news, routes, airlines

Don't know is this is a smart move by SN to start MBA. They go in direct competition with JAF. Plus, to have 2 Belgian aircraft operating into MBA in the same week, seems a bit too much. Curious to see if TC can maintain competitive prices operating SN iso JAF...
