ONE important remark here: The strike is NOT about being able to take 4 consecutive weeks of holiday leave as has been wrongly and intentionally spread in the media by the SN management. The stike is about being able to take all leave (a total of 4 weeks) in consecutive ways , and NOT like the manag...

Well whoever it will be, it will certainly NOT be a Star alliance airline, since this alliance has set its mind on BRU (LH has) and is doing everything to kill SN. I don't know if it is a general policy of star not to colaborate with non members in any way, or if it is just a special thing LH...

indeed sn26567, I would openly like to offer my apologies to waldova or anybody else here if I offended them personally, it certainly was not my aim. It is just that he has written 2 posts which have really shocked me because of his combined ignorance and resolve in this matter. Ignorance because he...

Waldova, can you please shut up, because you are making a fool of yourself! First of all: pilots at SABENA were not paid rediculously high salaries as you claim, they were paid avarage wages, similar to those used at most European carriers back then. At the regional carrier of SABENA (i.e. DAT) wage...

Lumumba, Pilots at SN are indeed not really satisfied with their current working conditions and that's an understatement. As has been explained here recenty with facts and figures in another post, salary at SN is undoubtedly amongst the poorest in the indrustry, with pay starting at about half what ...

Whow, I must say that looks stunning! :) However, that is never going to happen because the merger between SN and VEX will be in fact a take over by the first (SN) of the second (VEX) after which the name Virgin Express will slowly be replaced by another name: Belgium Blue has been rumoured to be a ...

repainting the SN fleet
Seems this summer SN has once again decided to send part of their Avro fleet over to AMS to get their new stunning colours.... Curerently OO-DJT (RJ85) is being repainted -as can be seen on the www.qaps.nl site. Does anybody know which planes are scheduled next? Till when will they send planes to AM...

indeed, however it is not 100% as it was supposed to be... I have seen official drawings for a repaint of the MD-11's SN leased from Citybird and it showed the number 2 engine would have been painted blue as well and the SN logo would continue on it... Sad none of the MD-11s made it in the new colou...

I think we can all easily see why SN isn't too keen to merge with VEX under the present conditions... When SN merges with VEX and buys out Branson in 2005, it means the merged company (SN Airholding) would only have 65,6 million euro left, of which roughly 19,7 (30%) would belong to the ex VEX share...

I have a small question. Seems SN is again sending planes to AMS to get repainted in the new colours. OO-DJQ is now overthere getting rid of that ugly looking blue belly finally and OO-MJE is already back as the first BAe146 which got repainted. Does any of you know when we will see the first A330-3...

For the moment, SN is not thinking of expanding their Long Haul fleet. In fact, it looks as if the A330-300 will stay for a long time to come. The Airline has just launched a project to fully redecorate the interior of their wide body planes and even give them names!!!!! A few months back, there was...

Voila! Verry well said 1V1! That's why I asked dolfke to stop this discussion right away! indeed Avro, net income is depending on your matrimonial status, and I am thus in favour of using gross salary in discussions too! Anyway, Dolfke gave you the figure of aroud 1680 euro net to give you an idea what a new-entry airline pilot an SN will earn... Fuji-Monster came up with a somewhat high...

Ok, I've registered specially for this occasion and I do not intend to get tangled up in this discussion, but as a SNBA pilot I feel I just had to jump in here. Doflke, can you please stop this discussion right away? What were you thinking? This discussion has achieved exactly the opposit of what yo...
