Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

There was indeed again a huge fueling problem this evening at Schiphol. It was not possible to fuel any plane. Also this time was a software problem the issue. The second fuel problem in three weeks time. This can happen everywhere as everything goes automated. Brussels Airport is the only airport ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?

AMERICAN just announces big expansion in Eastern Europe.

Eg 5 times a week to Krakau !!!

I would have expected something was in for BRU ( Philadelpia ??)

Capital of Europe airport is not getting a lot lately.

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Newspapers announce that BRU has decided to inverst in a brand new baggage handling system.
Should be ready in 2 years time.
The old one was from the year 2000.

Good news and quick decision.

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

It is quite pityful to see that the biggest city of Flanders, which is so proud of its harbour, diamond industry, chemical industry, its mayor ... is not able to make even a small airport liveable; and not able to attract or establish and make survive an airline with business connections. The peope ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

It s actually already the 4th time in 3 months... And it has been in the news all day... so even BRU s management must be panicking now... What a joke... Stij Indeed a joke. A very sad joke.. BRU is a sad example of the neo-capitalistic mentality: shareholders (and top management) first; customers,...

Re: KLM and/or AMS Amsterdam Schiphol Airport - Latest news 2019

Ultimate chaos still ongoing at AMS. More then 180 flights simply cancelled, and a few hundred more flights delayed. All hotels are full, there are not enough folding beds at the airport for the stranded pax, people will have to sleep on the ground. Dutch press: "there is a grimly atmosphere t...

Re: Air Belgium in 2019

Regarding Martinique and Guadeloupe. As it was mentioned before, in favor of France because of obvious reasons. When we have a look at two other destinations, where one of them was already served from BRU via TUI, Curacao, and the never start up of Sint-Maarten, it was also not working from Belgium...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

Why don't federal "policemen" like to work at BRU ? The answer to this question is crucial to solve the problem. A simple (simplistic) solution to the problem is money. They will love to work at BRU if they are paid more (for instance, through bonuses). There is no money you will say. OK,...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

First point, about border control: not under the control of BAC or mr. Feist. The authorities fail to attract and keep enough staff to man the boxes. It is not "the Authorities" who fail to etc. It is the local commander(s) who reign in their own little kingdom. It is very much like local...

Not sure this is the right topic for this message. Mr. Feist is confirmed to be CEO for the next 6 years. So that means his shareholders are very happy. Let us hope there will be more attention for the PAX now: * do something about the queues at immigration: make e-gates work always and put more pol...

So sad to see there were again giant problems at BRU on saturday. Now there is an operational problem every week or so. That's not enough to use the hub there is no possibility to hub on the African flights! Was there not 3 flights a day in the past? Yes please, SN. Drop your holiday destinations and quickly become a HUB airline. 3 or more flights a day. Yeah, drop something that's profitable  Yeah, follow the...

I am not an expert but it seems in sept SN will also fly back to Bristol, also operated Cityjet. Correct if i am wrong. Yes, as from 1st September 2019, SN is going to fly to Bristol, with 6 weekly flights, using CR9 of CityJet. SN2057 BRU - BRS 15:05 - 15:15 12345-7 CR9 SN2058 BRS - BRU 15:50 - 18...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

The reason why OS is more of a network airline is not of its intercontinental network (they have more or less the same number of long haul aircraft as SN) but are the many connections to eastern european destinations (70+% of pax is transfer traffic). If you look at their route map you hardly see a...
