These are simply amazing growth figures, not just in volume, but also in load factor: way better than most European airports in fact. It shows that those who were predicting doom and gloom after the low fares airlines opened bases in Brussels were wrong indeed.
Well done

Re: Ryanair in 2015
When boarding a Ryanair flight TO Brussels and whenever carry on luggage is taken off, people are reconsiled with all of it at the steps of the aircraft, NOT at the baggage belt? Because that's how I know how it goes at Brussels Airlines which you've included into this discussion. This may be conve...

Re: Third daily SN flight to CDG
These flights are feeding the African destinations, where loads are booming, just like on Europe. The official numbers for May will soon be published, but expect SN to do have done better even than last month. Europe is of course showing simply amazing passenger growth by itself (as usual), but Afr...

Re: Lufthansa Group pax (incl. SN) to pay a €16 fee when booking through a travel agent
16€/ticket is unfair. A 80€ ticket will see an increase in price of 20%, whilst a 4000€ ticket will only see a 0,4% increase. It is clear that airlines don't want to scare away their high yield passengers. Strange that one uses procentual figures to demonstrate an inegality a and then does exactly t...

Re: ANA from NRT to BRU as from winter season 2015
It will cost you roughly 800€ return and about 16-18 hours travel time between Tokyo and Africa with Qatar, Etihad , Mrats or Turkish. Why would anybody consider travel through Brussels, making your journey 30hrs long and probably pay 500€ more? The nightflight would be perfect for bizz people who w...

Re: Brussels Airlines website
Last week, I tried to book a ticket on SN's website. I paid by debit card and got the following message: "an error occured during payment". After 15 minutes as I received no confirmatiom email, I tried again. This time all went fine and the confimation email was in within seconds. To my su...

Re: 27/05/2015 Major power failure at Belgocontrol
When newspapers are writing about my domain, more often than not they talk nonsense, so I wouldn't base any judgement on what you read. As to the reduced capacity: there still is possible lack of back up power, for this reason separation between aircraft is increased as a precautionary measure. So i...

Recruitment at LH is in german.
Most legacy carriers do require you to speak the local language, LCCs are mostly English only.

Re: Did Brussels Airlines hire 20 Lufthansa student pilots?
Pilots have an EASA licence, which is valid on all aircraft registered in EASA countries.
Very sad for the unemployed Belgian pilots, but as Brussels Airlines is part of the LH Group and without LH there would probably be no Brussels Airlines and no jobs at all, I don't see the problem.

Possibly SnR, but how will that young female react when a terrorist threathens to kill someone in front of the camera if he is not given access to the cockpit? Will she lock the door and switch of the cameras as pilots are trained to do or will she open the door? What happened last week shows a weak...

I used the connector twice now and whillst it offers great views and some beautiful shops the overall experience is negative. Queues at security were longer than before due to the fact that the conveyor belts which lead to the X-ray machines are shorter than before. Only one person at the time can p...

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
A strange question maybe, but why does everybody think that changing the rule and sending in somebody in replacement of a pilot when he goes out, is safer? In fact, it allows another person in the cockpit who might do harm, doesn't it? A valid question, I remember a FedEx DC 10 where an additional c...

If you have to doubt good intentions of professionals paid for that, it's game over, of course. :( More and more the righthand seat in a cockpit is a seat which is for sale. More and more airlines are recruiting people who pay them big money for being trained. Combine the resulting huge debts with ...

The TIJD is not very positive about LH results. The bottomline is a meager net profit of 55mio, but a loss of 732mio according to German rules

Well if you see that, according De TIJD, LH used engineering to make a 700 mio net loss look like a net profit of 55mio, one can imagine that the same has been done at SN.

Re: Background info on hiring techniques at the low cost airlines
There is a much bigger thread to aviation security and that is fatigue! Airlines of all kind were quity happy to lobby for an increase in maximum duty times recently. As a result the EU parliament accepted the law against the advice of a technical werking group. I also think the title is missleading...
