Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
And we talk about Cityjet CRJ1000 jets. Not A320. The strategy is all A320. CRJ May have been a feeling consideration and didn't worked out. Or, they can earn in wetlease more being located in MUC - the 380 are back and need to be filled. From a group prospective it may be the better economical dec...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
But the A330 fleet is relatively young they still can fly more than 10 years with Brussels Airlines is it not the perfect material for the flights to Africa?
They have to change there interior more often but that's it!?

Three-day flight attendant strike between 28 February and 1 March, the never-ending discussion between management and unions. And another hot Summer coming up. You can have all the plans that you want, first you need happy staff. https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthansa-group/brussels-airlines/...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
As Japan is officially in a recession, it will take them longer to increase the number of flights. That's not a reason it's a very small recession(it's not a crisis)you will not feel this in air transport to and from Japan! Don't be too optimistic about it. The whole Asia part is not recovered from...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
BRU is a disgrace. One of the worst airports in Europe. Only the Connector and Pier A look more or less up to date. Rest is Sub standard. Ugly. Obsolete.Dirty. Worst ? Over 25 000 reviews on Google. Not 1 or 10 reviews but over 25 000. Average : 4/5 . I think enough to have real opinions abt ...

BRU is a disgrace. One of the worst airports in Europe. Only the Connector and Pier A look more or less up to date. Rest is Sub standard. Ugly. Obsolete.Dirty. “Everything that is exaggerated is insignificant” said Prince Talleyrand Perigord, probably to Napoleon. Standstill means decline. Dionisio...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
So SN will only have 3 destinations in UK? I remember the days it also served Belfast and Bristol. Too bad they are reducing so many destinations. I can get they can't fill the a320. They should get a220 or wetlease smaller aircraft like last year. (this is what I want, not the most profitable prob...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
It's how the market works: these days companies don't have to choose much, it's a different story then 25 years ago. It''s a real crisis at this moment. Belgian pilots, mostly copilots, are leaving for other skies (major airlines, in the Middle East,...). Hiring new guys is difficult. Especially at...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Does not explain why not take a bigger part of the market if it exist... Barcelona is a good example why not fly more if there is the potential to do so! Short answer, finite resources. Planes = more frequencies to BCN means less frequencies elsewhere, what city would you downgrade, and why? Staff ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Turboprops make very less noise than jets!!!! And no they need to use turboprops for those routes in my opinion because they are much less expensive and also carry less passengers these are good options for those tiny routes. That's also incorrect. Unless you compare a Q400 with a 747-200, you are ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Niche market yes, but they are also disappearing. Lots of airlines got rid of their turboprops in the past few years. And others are busy in the process... The ATR is not even worth talking about, and the Q400 is terribly unreliable (-> very often AOG). Sure a low fuel burn, but huge maintenance co...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Not really. That's what lots of people who don't know what they are talking about think, but it's mostly incorrect. There is a reason why turboprops are disappearing, in Europe at least. There are not disappearing but it's a niche market! And so you are saying that there are not cheaper to use on s...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
I have to agree here that a few turboprops, much cheaper to operate than big jets, would be a nice addition to the SN fleet for the destinations that have been mentioned above: Bordeaux, Nantes, Billund, but also Cork, Hanover, Nuremberg, Basel and even Luxemburg. In the past, these destinations we...
