Re: which carrier to BKK?
Adding my 2 cents: EVA. But again: the trip to AMS has to be paid. That info is wrong, free bus to/from BRU, Antwerp, book with EVA after booking flight. Qatar: watch out, 55 min transfer at Doha seems somewhat short, haven't read travelers experiences yet. Don't like timing, see Etihad Etihad: I li...

Re: Thai to serve BRU as from next fall!
Kom poon kap!! Araai na? If you can't speak/write Thai don't try it on a web board... I guess you mean: Thank you = kob kun man = kob kun krab ( more polite) woman = kob kun kaa I spare you the Thai writing :D anyway, timing is not too bad, I travel 3x year to BRU and need domestic connection to fr...

Re: Where will you fly in 2011?
I hope you will enjoy the Etihad flight. But it has been confirmed now several times that the 10 abreast in the Bangkok-Abu Dhabi stretch is 1 too much. Seat pitch and service still OK. Question about your trip in september. You state UHT-HKG-UTH That would mean a flight from UHT (? I don't know th...

Re: New website Brussels Airport
I guess they fired their IT design people some years ago??? Incidentally, I just hit SAS website by accident and found it very good until I went in booking mode: very poor once you hit screens to select a given flight. One nice touch is an overview of fares and service classes onto one screen. You c...

Re: Qatar Airways la bien aimée
I flew them a good number of times between 2002-2006 CDG-DOH-BKK 2x year. Nothing to complain about, got FF silver after 2 returns, excellent perks: business class check in, 10kgs extra luggage, lounge access. I enjoyed upgrades to business and booked paid business tickets afterwards. Only negative ...

Re: Overbooking on intercontinental flights
So DannyVDB, did you get that opup? Incidentally, I was lucky 2 years ago on an EY Y ticket to be upgraded to C at BRU check in (had silver) and to F at boarding, that was nice 5*. Just two weeks ago was upped from C to F again on EY at BRU again, overbooked and gold now. This time not so impressed,...

Re: Belgian ATC 24h strike 28/09/2010 12:00 UTC
Well I was a victim of this wild strike and a very unhappy one. I needed to be at the funeral of a family member 29 September at 11am. I left my home at Udon Thani Thailand on 28 September at 12am to catch the 15.25 Thai Airways to Suvarnabhumi Bangkok airport and to connect with Etihad BKK-AUH EY40...

Found a cheap BKK-LHR return(450 GBP) checked bru airline website for LHR-BRU flight, by default offers flights OUT of bru, what if you want to fly into? Ok, figured that one out, then got fare in GBP, tried to change to "view other currency" good luck, won't work. Anyway, isn't the GBP cl...

Accident at Phuket airport
Seems a aircraft crashed landing at Phuket Airport in bad weather.
The plane missed the runway and broke in two.
I Just saw this on local TV news.
Understood it is a One Two GO plane and might be fatalities.
An MD80 with 128 passengers on board

Well I just was at old Doha airport this Sunday morning 6 May between 00.00 and 02.00. This airport is a hub between Europe and Asia. There were a lot of planes on the tarmac. Boarding and unloading planes is done through busing. They have recently refurbished the airport and built a dedicated busin...

Unfortunately, since the demise of Sabena Brussels airport looks like a dead city to me. Next week I will be of from bru to ams to bkk and will enjoy a few hours wait in ams, which I find far more superior then bru. And indeed the long walk through terminal A is a shame to those who designed the new...
