Re: LH aggressively promotes Africa
I would like to come back to LH intending to fly to Pointe-Noire. Apparently, so far, nobody (including me) was aware of the shortage of seats offered to PNR and the high yields on this route, except AF and now LH. Even, Sabena, Snba and now b.air, the so-called Africa specialists, have never consi...

Re: LH aggressively promotes Africa
And when they convert it into a freighter it will still be a BBJ? Yes, but then it's a BBJ C : BBJ C is a variant of the BBJ featuring the "quick change" capabilities of the 737-700C. This allows the aircraft to be quickly reconfigured for cargo duty. Its key feature is its large cargo do...

Re: LH aggressively promotes Africa
*note: In absolute terms a 24C/84Y is not a BBJ, just the same way the Dedicate A319 are not ACJ but A319LR, please be precise in what you write otherwise confusion occurs. I'm sorry that I confused you, so I will be more precise; it's actually a BBJ 2 . Privatair really operates them and there is ...

Re: LH aggressively promotes Africa
It would not make sense to have around 50 business seats for business passengers connecting through FRA. The Privatair BBJ2 which LH uses (if it would be operated to PNR) has 24 C seats & 84 Y seats, they don't use the Business Class only BBJ's anymore. I still don't see why it wouldn't make se...

Re: LH aggressively promotes Africa
Interesting, PNR straight from FRA instead of waiting for that 6th A332/3 and assigning the route to SN. This looks like the appetizer for the future strategy of LH, expanding Africa from FRA rather than from BRU. Well, even though LH is an important partner (and minority shareholder) of SN, as lon...

Re: LH aggressively promotes Africa
Interesting article in Le Figaro about LH attacking AF in Africa. They report that: -ET is preparing to sign an agreement to join Star Alliance (as rumoured for a long time already) -SN will open new routes to AFI (of course nothing new at all) But most interesting: -LH will announce during the next...

No announcement (yet ) of NRT-BRU, but nevertheless some more info about the introduction of the 787 at ANA:

Re: new A319 for SN
I heard it will get new radio communications systems (better adjusted to the African avaiation world) and a new interior before it will go to Korongo. I heard it would be a more comfortable interior with less seats than now. Is this correct? Probably so, from an interview with Korongo's managing di...

Re: airDC project relaunched under name "Korongo"
In this weekend’s “De Standaard” newspaper there was an article about the George Forrest Group. During an interview with it’s Vice President Pierre Chevalier, Korongo was also briefly mentioned. As already known, the George Forrest Group will have a 49% participation in Korongo. They hope to have th...

Re: Brussels Airlines joining Star Alliance in December 2009
business class was imposed on b.air's management against their will and they would so much like to prove that nobody wants/needs it and that they were right. That is so spot on! I can confirm you our management can't stop highlighting how right they were in halting C class and how it was an absolut...

Re: Brussels Airlines joining Star Alliance in December 2009
Dear NCB, there has been a lenghty discussion about this subject some time ago, but apparently you still haven't give up on your unrealistic idea... A corporate traveller doesn't care how much his company is paying for his seat. A corporate traveller may not care, but Financial Control of his compan...

Re: When do SN codeshare with US or UA on TATL ?
Codeshares will indeed be active on 06APR, the UA codeshares on SN flights are allready bookable on UA's site but SN's site is like usual hopeless behind... It's still not possible to book TATL flights on SN's site even with dates after 06APR. Hell, even IAD is an unknown airport at SN's site... :l...

Re: Flyertalk reports NRT-BRU starting in 2011 ?
It is really a shame to see our respected and allegedly independant press give in to all sorts of demands from private interests to pull certain newsfeeds. If journalists happen to come across something newsworthy, they should report on it, PERIOD, even if it spoils the show our rains on somebody e...

Re: Flyertalk reports NRT-BRU starting in 2011 ?
Remember my post a year or two ago about not to communicate before the airports or airlines did? Well, most reacted on the news since it appeared on a respectable source, making it look like an official statement. Yes indeed; first there was Trends.be who reported this news, and only after that rep...

When can we celebrate the opening of the new terminal & the extension of the A-Pier?  When exactly I don't know Well, I was of course only half-joking about the much discussed western extension of the A Pier etc. but I think two extra gates are planned at the Eastern tip of the A-Pie...

Let us hope BRU realises its wishlist will ONLY become real thanks to its home carrier and STAR allliance partner brussels airlines , so let us hope they will have the courage to concentrate back on what can make them a lot of money (i.e: premium pax and long haul) and forget about rolling out the ...

Well I can say I've just found a nice article. :) "Direct flights between Tokyo and Brussels on his way" The negotiations about a non-stop flight between Tokyo and Brussels are in their final stages. ANA is about to start daily(!) operations with the B787-8 (!) in 2011. Brussels Airlines ...
