Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
This is indeed my point : no strategy, no investment, no ambition, day to day management, shop keeper's mind, completely low since years and years ... Just hoping LH can do the job they never could do themselves ... So sad :( BTW equipment u can always find ... Everybody wants the old "Sabena&...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Sad to see AC taking on the YUL-BRU route Was expecting SN to take this route (*A made it possible) along with BOS and NYK (since long ago) Don't see their strategy to successfully come back across the pond. Nor do I see their strategy on Africa with a far too limited network No move ... as usual :...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Their 762ER has enough range and even carries one pax less then the 752, but with more C-seats. But then again, it remains to be seen if CO has enough traffic (esp. in C) to operate the flight. Maybe if they can promote their South-American network from IAH? But they already serve many S-A markets ...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Since A B752 has a range of 3.900nm at full payload I assume that's not possible. BRU-IAH is aproximately a bit over 5.000nmkiwiandrew wrote:
are you sure that a 752 is capable of flying BRU-IAH ? I would have thought that it was a bit too far .

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Maybe UA can connect Los Angeles with BRU, but I think this wil only happen with a stop in LHR, If this will hapen the first years. Actually effective from next October 21 ;) The "slotkeeping" 777 flights from and to LHR is actually the LHR-LAX-LHR flight. And it is possible to book this ...

Re: Air Canada daily from Montréal to Brussels
Just checked the fares on AC's site and they are not exactly cheap... BRU-YUL on 13/JUN/2010 YUL-BRU on 20/JUN/2010 Fare: Tango Plus (L) Pricing: 907,52 CAD - 584 EUR This is reasonable. But in business class it's a whole different thing... Cheapest for the same flight at this moment is: 6.034,52 CA...

Re: Air Canada daily from Montréal to Brussels
Montréal is actually bilingual... It's a French/English city... In contrary to Quebec where they only speak French.
Anyway, I welcome the new line. I'm going to use it for certain next year. I've been to Montréal in February and almost lost my heart to the region

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
SN has not the money to buy 5 long haul planes in one time to start routes to AFI, the US and Asia. They don't have to buy a single plane, they can lease planes... Back in the old days, when SN was Sabena it made sense to actually buy planes since Sabena did everything in house, from A to Z. Now it...

Re: Belgium Government: 1 A330 will replace the A310's
One more thing... The Airbus is dry leased from Hi Fly... The operation of this aircraft will be done by the Belgian Airforce... So what's the big deal? Belgium is using a European manufactured plane (where multiple parts come from Belgian suppliers) and will operate the plane by itself. In case of ...

Re: Belgium Government: 1 A330 will replace the A310's
If the leasingcompany Hi Fly had actually the lowest bid and the best conditions it is normal they get the contract. Why should the government give a contract to a Belgian company when they are certain that they couldn't defend their decision? Both Sabena Technics & Abelag, the other candidates ...

Belgian Government: 1 A330 will replace the A310's
Today it was announced that the Portugese company "Hi Fly" has won the bid for the delivery of the new governmental plane to the Belgian Government. An Airbus A330 will replace both A310's currently in service. Instead of buying the aircraft the government has opted to lease the new plane....

Re: Permanent United 777
Allready discussed but the secondary B777 will carry indeed the flightnumber from the LHR/ORD rotation (which will become a BRU/LHR/ORD rotation) but will not fly the route to ORD. The 777 will most likely be used on the LHR/LAX rotation. LHR/ORD will remain a B767 rotation so a plane change is nece...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines
Would be a very nice route! I've send a message to the United airline twitter account with the question if it's bookable. I've just checked it with a random site (vliegtickets.nl) and it's giving me the following for a 4/11 november return: 1.065,13 EUR UA929 BRU-LHR UA938 LHR-BRU But for a strange...

Re: BRU winter 09-10: latest news, routes, airlines
We can see it already in the booking engine of United. So we will see two daily flights ex-IAD to BRU. But why park their a/c for more then 12h on Belgian soil? And why via LHR? Flight numbers are UA929 ex- BRU and UA938 ex-LHR Strange since UA929 is the LHR-ORD flight with a B763 while UA938 is a ...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
UA is the only operator that seems to be flying the year round with a B777. And from the times I've been on this flight it seems to do it very well (flights were always packed)
