Re: LOT leases an Airbus A330
Technically they don't use it, since it's a wet-lease. They just asked someone else to fly their passengers for them.

Re: Brussels Airlines test automated “self baggage drop-off”
AMS has a bunch of those machines. They tricked me, I had not paid close attention to the instructions. Having seen millions of peel-back luggage tags in my life (well, not millions, but enough of them), I tried and tried to peel the back to stick the ends together. Turns out, this is a different ki...

Well maybe the problem is that bad, and the aircraft would need three days to be fixed.

Re: Do sexy flight attendants really sell more seats?
I bet the FR mystery passengers have to pay for their own tickets...
So where is the 'personal sexy flight attendant during your flight' service, I don't see it on the booking screen on FR's website. I guess we have to wait until they finally do long haul? ('beds and blowjobs' MOL said..)

Re: New European Commission guidelines on passenger compensa
Ohh and the Belgian unions are going to love this one: Today, some national provisions may hinder air carriers from seeking redress from third parties responsible for the flight disruption. Under the proposal, national law may not restrict the air carriers' right to seek compensation from responsibl...

Re: Ryanair agreed to buy 200 aircraft from Boeing
That sounds really strange... 'Ryanair agreed to buy 200 aircraft'... As if they didn't really want them but agreed to do so anyway?
Also, I'd rather say it was Boeing who agreed to sell them the 200 planes.

Re: A drone at 200 ft from Alitalia jet near New York JFK
I'm just saying it would have to be a VERY unlucky hit to have something really bad happen to the plane (as in a different outcome than landing at JFK with some small damage to the fuselage/wings and/or a single engine broken). I am in no way claiming the plane would not be damaged (unless it was my...

The thing probably weighed less than a duck, and is probably not made of very strong materials.

Re: low cabin pressure in low cost airlines?
No, the cabin is regulated near the maximum differential pressure (difference between outside and inside) at cruising altitude. I can only speak about the A320, and there it is 8 PSI. This means, at FL320 this can be around 6000ft cabin altitude and at FL390, it will be 8000ft cabin altitude. The o...

Re: low cabin pressure in low cost airlines?
As lcc's have, most of the time, a higher load factor they fly less in low flow. For the same reason the optimum cruise altitude of the LCC is often lower, so the cabin altitude will be lower (= higher pressure) I thought cabin pressure ends up being about 8000 feet no matter what the actual altitu...

Re: Military aviation from Israel
Actually tankers are also useful to keep aircraft in the air much longer. This is quite useful for patrolling, otherwise you lose a lot of time landing, tanking, taking off again.
