Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Financial newspaper De Tijd this morning: ".. .De coronacrisis blijft wegen op de cijfers van Brussels Airlines, dat in het eerste halfjaar een verlies van 143 miljoen euro leed en zich niet wil uitspreken over de rest van het jaar... " Covid-19 still hurts Brussels Airlines. The airline ...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021
Brussels Airlines flight #SN379 to Douala (Airbus A330-300 reg. OO-SFF) made a U-turn in the neighbourhood of Metz and came back at low altitude to Brussels Airport where it landed without holding, which seems to indicate an urgent technical problem. Why would the “no holding” imply an urgent techn...

Re: BRU Summer 2022: news, new routes, airlines
Thx but I could use it because my son could go in because he was flying with Brussels Airlines but not on the same destination! And the lounge was completely empty. The companion, travelling on the same flight, lounge access is a free extra. Your son wasn’t on the same flight so was not entitled to...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Brussels Airlines sees a strong increase in the number of incoming bookings. Ever since the lifting of the travel ban for Belgians on 19 April, the airline has noticed a positive trend. However, the past few weeks the increase in bookings grows even stronger. Good to hear! Let’s hope they can final...

Re: Belgian Red Devils no longer fly on their iconic Brussels Airlines "Trident" aircraft
Money is probably the only reason. Comfort could be another and maybe the main reason. 2*2 in a 737 is a lot more comfortable than 6 in a row on the A320. Marginal gains could make the difference as there is a lot of travel involved in this year’s championship. (Don’t forget that the aviation facto...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
IATA is not the watchdog / policeman / judge for such incidents. Exactly! And so they shouldn’t call a preventive security measure a “politicization of aviation”. Andre’s article on the home pages clearly proves that the interpretation, by a neutral reader, of the press release is “yes but actually...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
] IATA does not minimise the hijack. See their press release from 24th May: “...IATA strongly condemns any interference or requirement for landing of civil aviation operations that is inconsistent with the rules of international law. We call for an independent investigation by competent internation...

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him
How naive are they at IATA? Nothing is going to stop BY from doing this again, apart from not giving the chance. The number of BY citizens who moved to the 3 Baltics has increased significantly, even during the pandemic. I would be very worried if I am an (ex-)BY citizen living in EE/LV/LT, and nee...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
It seems you all forgot in what position SN was after March 2020. It was even uncertain if the company would survive! Would LH let them go? Would the government nationalize? Would the government bail out? ... The future of SN was highly uncertain at that time. This certainly added to the fact that ...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021
@EBAW at 23LT + a few seconds, a biz jet departing on an intercontinental flight, cancelled take-off on ATC's instruction, as the airport was officially closed at 23LT. Airport_closed.JPG Incredible. This will give a bad reputation to ANR and skeyes. Despite being advised they needed to be airborne...

Good evening, According to fr24 and the Brussels airport site, OO-TMY would be the 2nd B737MAX of tui to be certified to fly in Europe. Why else would they go through the trouble to remove all the Qatar titles and logos if the aircraft would be fully repainted? I'm quite sure QR will never let another airline fly with its livery, the aircraft is not owned by QR anymore. Actually they DO: Hungary bought ex A7-AFF to be operated by W...

KPMG has been appointed to handle the liquidation process of Norwegian Air Resources UK, thus allowing 1,100 employees of the carrier to apply for state-funded redundancy payoffs. To give a bit more info of what we could read already regarding the freighters for Air Belgium. CGA CGM, which is a shipowner, bought 2 A330 freighters from Qatar Airways. CGA CGM wants to step in also in airfreight by creating its own cargo airline. Air Belgium wants to use 2 of those of CGA CGM. ...
